Behind every KidSport grant is a story of opportunity, belonging, and a KidSport child getting the chance to play. This family's story is one of them. 💙

"I would like to sincerely thank you for approving funding to support my son’s participation in soccer this year. This is his very first experience playing soccer, and it is something he has been dreaming about for a long time. He is very excited to finally have this opportunity. For him, it means not only being active, but also making new friends, learning teamwork, and feeling included.

For our family, your support truly makes a difference. We are deeply grateful to KidSport and all the supporters who help make programs like this possible for children.

Thank you again for your kindness and support."

– A Grateful KidSport Edmonton Parent

Stories like this remind us of the impact sport can have on a child's life. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, sponsors, and supporters, more KidSport kids have the opportunity to get off the sidelines, build confidence, make friends, and experience the joy of sport.

Today, we honour the Survivors of residential schools, their families, communities, and the children who never made it home.

KidSport Edmonton acknowledges that we are located on Treaty 6 Territory and respects the histories, languages, cultures, and contributions of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Peoples. We are grateful for the opportunity to live, work, and learn on this land.

On National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we reflect on the truths of Canada's past and present, and recognize the ongoing impacts of residential schools on Indigenous Peoples and communities. We commit to listening, learning, and taking meaningful steps toward reconciliation.

Today, we remember. We reflect. We stand with Indigenous communities.
