The Government of Alberta recently announced new supports for vulnerable people in Edmonton. The Edmonton Chamber is extremely encouraged by this new navigation and support centre created to help vulnerable Edmontonians currently living in encampments. This collaborative and co-operative approach is exactly what is required to start implementing solutions that work.

"We applaud all partners for their quick action, and showing compassion and empathy for those in need. But, let's keep this tremendous momentum going. Collectively, we need to ensure our vulnerable population continues to get access to supports and resources to keep them safe long term and help mitigate or significantly reduce the houseless issue in our city." - Doug Griffiths

As a new year begins, we look ahead under new executive leadership and building a new team. Pursuing Edmonton’s economic success means we’ll need a strong regional focus and purposeful collaboration, while at the Chamber level, increasing educational resources available to businesses. President & CEO, Doug Griffiths, believes in using technology to connect our region's business ecosystem.

“I want the Chamber to be an expression and reflection of that diversity that we have around the region and around the city.” – Doug Griffiths
