The Board of Directors and staff of PALS would like to warmly welcome Greig Smith as our new Executive Director!
Greig brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience from more than 20 years in both International and Canadian leadership positions in the social sector. His previous titles include CEO and Registrar for the Government of Jamaica's Office of Children's Registry from 2011 to 2018, Program Manager for Caribbean African Canadian Social Services in Toronto for four years, as well as the Director Disability Services for YWCA Edmonton since 2022 up until mid-September.
His background in social work and education exemplifies his passion for equity and inclusion; helping the most vulnerable populations through breaking barriers and advocating for strong policies and program development, expansion, and evaluation. Greig is also adept at financial management and unifying and guiding large teams. He holds qualifications as a trained educator, with a Bachelors in Social Work and a Masters in Leadership and Administration.
Outside of work, he is also a proud father to his 18-year-old daughter.
Greig's first day as Executive Director is September 21st, 2026. PALS would like to give a big thank the staff for maintaining the organization in the interim between Executive Directors. We would also like to thank the Board of Directors for undergoing an extensive interview process to select the best candidate for the future of PALS.
