We are asking for the help of our friends, family and the public to find a kidney for Frédéric. English version bellow:
Frédéric à été malade étant bébé ce qui a fait qu'à l'adolescence ses reins ne fonctionnaient plus. Il a passé un an à St Justine et son père lui à donné, son rein. Depuis plus d'un an son rein à commencé à se détériorer, cela faisait 24 ans que tout allait bien. Donc depuis Sep
tembre 2019 ses reins ne fonctionnent plus et il ne peut plus travailler. Ses traitements doivent se faire à chaque deux jours pour une durée de 5 heures et 1 heure pour installer et désinfecter sa machine. Pendant ce temps, il ne peut pas faire grand chose et doit rester assis .Il à commencé à faire sa dialyse à la maison en février-mars 2019. Cela fait maintenant 2 ans qu'il attend un rein et sa santé psychologique, physique et familiale se détériore. Le médecin à statuer que nous devions absolument trouver un rein très bientôt. La mère à Frédéric et moi-même son épouse on commencé les tests mais nous faisons de la haute pression. D'autre membre de sa famille ont commencé les tests mais cela prends du temps et on ne sait toujours pas s'ils sont compatible ou s'ils peuvent donner un rein à quelqu'un d'autre pour que Fred puisse en avoir un autre. Au cours des années son corps à produit certain anti corps ce qui fait que les médecins doivent évaluer plus de comptabilité afin de lui donner un rein qui va durer longtemps et cela prends plus de temps aussi pour lui en trouvé un. Les médecins lui ont conseiller de prendre un rein de quelqu'un avec une hépatite car ils ont des médicaments efficaces qui ferait en sorte de ne pas développer une hépatite et cela réduirait le temps d'attente pour lui trouver un rein. De notre côté, sa maman à une amie en France (merci Clotilde!) qui est prêt à lui donner un rein et qui à déjà commencer les tests. Or, due au COVID l'hôpital ne veut pas pousser les tests. Ils ont dit de les re contacter lorsque la situation du COVID ira mieux en Alberta. Ce qui est très décevant car elle a de bonne chance de comptabilité et devons lui trouver un donneur Canadien. Frédéric est père de famille de trois beaux garçons qui l'aime et qu'ils veulent que tout soit enfin derrière lui. En Alberta, même si votre rein n'est pas compatible il y a un programme d'échange de rein. Donc la personne peut donner un rein à quelqu'un d'autre et l'hôpital est obligé de trouver un rein à Frédéric plus rapidement. Le groupe sanguin à Fred est B+
Merci de votre support de loin ou de proche xoxo. Frédéric was sick when he was a baby and when he was a teenager his kidney failed. Justine hospital and his dad donated a kidney to him. For 24 years everything went smoothly. Since September 2019 his kidney failed and he can't work. He has to do his kidney treatment every second day for 5 hours per treatment and 1 hour to install his machine and to clean it. During that time he can't do much and has to stay seated. He started his home dialysis treatment back in February-March 2019. It's been 2 years that he has been waiting for a kidney and his mental and physical health are deteriorating. The doctor's advised us to find him a kidney quickly. His mother and myself started the testing process but we had to stop due to high blood pressure so neither of us are able to be a donor. Other members of his family started the process but it takes so much time and we don't know yet if they are compatible or if they can give a kidney to someone else so a three way exchange can be done. Over the years while his kidney was working, his body produced anti bodies. So the doctor has to look for more kidney prospects to make sure it's going to be a good fit. That makes the search longer to find one for him. The doctor's advised Frederic that he has the option to get a kidney from someone with hepatitis. He will have to take medication so he won't get the virus and that will reduce the wait time to find him a kidney. On our side, his mother's friend who lives in France (thank you Clotilde!)is willing to give him a kidney and started the testing, but with COVID the hospital decided to stop the testing. They advised us to contact them when the COVID situation is better in Alberta. That is very disappointing since she has good chances to be a match and we now need to find a Canadian donor. Frédéric is a dad of three young boys who love him and are looking forward to having their happy healthy dad back and putting this all behind them. In Alberta, even if you’re not a compatible match to Fred there is a kidney exchange program. So another person can give a kidney to someone else in need of one and the hospital can quickly find a kidney for Fred. Frédéric's blood type is B+. Thank you for your support from far or close xoxo.
