We're looking for vendors to join us at our Deck the Paws Holiday Market! Whether you have a small business, unique products, or handmade goods to share, we'd love to hear from you!

Meet Brioche, a bundle of sweetness who believes personal space is completely overrated and that every human deserves a full-time, four-legged shadow!

Brioche is a professional cuddle bug, devoted companion, and part-time drama queen. Need to go to the bathroom? She’s coming. Moving to another room? Right behind you. Trying to enjoy five minutes of privacy? Absolutely not, bestie!

And if you dare to ignore her? Brioche has a whole performance prepared! First, she’ll sit beside you and let out a little whine. Still ignoring her? She’ll dramatically flop onto her back and turn up the volume until you acknowledge her royal cuteness.

This little love loaf dreams of a home filled with cuddles, leisurely walks, neck scratches, and all the affection her heart can handle. Her favourite spots for pets are around her neck and behind her ears, so consider yourself warned: once you start, you may never be allowed to stop!

Brioche is working on her sit and name recall, and she’s making progress with her leash reactivity. When she gets overstimulated or overly excited on walks, the world can feel like a LOT. She’ll need a patient family willing to continue positive training, help her navigate exciting environments, and teach her that the world isn't so scary.

Brioche has done her taste-testing, and she’s decided that the perfect recipe for happiness includes a loving home, a little patience, plenty of affection, and a human who understands that being followed everywhere is simply part of the Brioche experience.

Edward is waiting at Pet Valu Rabbit Hill for the vampire love of his life to walk through the door and make him forever yours.

Forget sparkling in the sunlight, Edward prefers stealing hearts one snuggle at a time! This handsome boy has absolutely no concept of personal space. When Edward decides it’s CUDDLE O’CLOCK, resistance is futile. He’ll even reach up to ask to be picked up, because why walk when you could be carried like the vampire royalty you are?

Edward is a chatty little gentleman who loves exploring his surroundings, chasing toys, watching birds and squirrels, and starting his mornings with a serious case of the zoomies. He believes breakfast and supper should arrive promptly, because even vampires need to keep their strength up!

He’s a lovable, easygoing boy who gets along great with cat friendly dogs! Edward has lived with other cats before and was happy to be part of the coven!

Edward is litter trained, uses his scratching post like a good boy, and even tolerates nail trims without turning into a tiny vampire menace.

Today, we’re remembering Oscar. ❤️

Oscar was a senior boy who got to spend a couple of wonderful years with his forever foster family. He was their shadow, always close by, protective of his people, and full of love. He was also a gentle giant with a mischievous side, a very enthusiastic welcome home, and a strict 4:30 supper schedule. 😂

As Oscar got older, his health began to decline, and this past year became harder as his dementia progressed. Through all the changes and challenges, his forever foster family continued to love him, care for him, and do whatever he needed.

We are so incredibly grateful to the family who gave Oscar that love and stayed by his side through it all. Thank you for making his final years so full of love, comfort, and belonging. He was so lucky to have you, and we know you were just as lucky to have him.

Run free, Oscar. You were so loved, and you will be remembered. 🌈❤️

🧡 A Thanksgiving thank you from all of us at AHHRB 🐾

Animal rescue takes a village, and this Thanksgiving, we’re feeling especially grateful for ours.

To our foster families who open their homes and hearts to animals who need somewhere safe to land. To our volunteers who give their time, energy, and countless hours behind the scenes. To everyone who donates money, food, supplies, and other essentials. To the people who share our posts, attend our fundraisers, support our events, and help our animals find their forever homes.

Rescue isn’t always easy, and this year has brought more animals, more needs, and more expenses than ever. But behind every animal who gets a second chance is a community of people who chose to care.

You may not always see the difference your support makes, but we do. We see it in the animals who arrive scared and leave loved. In the ones who finally get the medical care they need. In the foster homes that give them a safe place to heal. And in the happy endings that wouldn’t be possible without you.

We couldn’t do this without our community, and we’re so grateful to have you in our corner.

Lights, camera, SNOOPY! This handsome little guy is starring in his very own feel-good movie, and he's looking for a forever family to share all the best scenes with!

Snoopy is the perfect mix of playful comedian and laid-back leading man. When you come home, he'll be waiting at the door to give you his grand welcome… but don't expect the moment to last too long! Once the greetings are complete, he'll dash off to grab his favourite toy because, obviously, EVERY homecoming deserves a game of fetch!

When he's not busy being the star of playtime, Snoopy is a pretty easygoing guy. He's happy to relax, roll around in the grass, or supervise the neighbourhood through his favourite window. He's not the clingy type, but he likes to keep his favourite humans in sight. Think of him as your personal little sidekick who just wants to make sure his people are never too far away!

Now, every leading man has his quirks, and Snoopy's is that he's a bit of a food critic. He's not easily impressed by just any dish, but bring out the cheese and you might just earn a five-star review!

Snoopy can be a little shy when the crowd gets big, but give him a moment to warm up, and he's soon ready to collect all the pets and attention. He's happy to make doggy friends, as long as they understand that not every playdate needs to be a wrestling match!

His dream ending? A loving family, a basket full of toys, sunny afternoons rolling in the grass, and someone who's always up for one more game of fetch.
