SANA Edmonton Chapter celebrated its Eid get-together on Saturday, March 28. The event beautifully reflected strong community participation, unity, and the collective efforts of everyone involved.

There was something for everyone—engaging activities, games for kids and adults, a singing competition, and a special recognition for our seniors.

This memorable event would not have been possible without the hard work of our dedicated volunteers, the enthusiastic participation of the community, and the continuous efforts of the EC.

From the bottom of my heart, I would like to thank each and every one of you for your time, effort, and support in making this gathering truly special and unforgettable.

As we approach the end of the blessed month of Ramadan, SANA Edmonton warmly invites you and your family to join our Eid Potluck Event on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at PCAE Hall.

There is no cost to attend. Guests are kindly requested to bring a food dish to share. The list of dishes will be organized after March 21, once we have a confirmed guest count.

يا الله،

مان عاجزي ۽ شڪرگذاري سان هٿ کڻي دنيا جي هر ڪنڊ ۾ رهندڙ هر سنڌي لاءِ دعا گهران ٿي — جيڪي ڪٿي به هجن، محنت ڪري رهيا هجن، پڙهي رهيا هجن، ڪم ڪري رهيا هجن يا پنهنجي برادري جي خدمت ڪري رهيا هجن.

يا رب، اسان جي دلين ۾ محبت، عزت ۽ سمجهه پيدا ڪر. اسان جي وچ مان نفرتون ۽ اختلاف ختم ڪر ۽ انهن جي جاءِ تي ڀائيچارو ۽ همدردي پيدا ڪر. اسان کي هڪ ٻئي کي مٿي کڻڻ وارو بڻاءِ، نه ڪي هڪ ٻئي کي هيٺ ڪرڻ وارو.

يا الله، سنڌ ڌرتيءَ تي پنهنجو خاص ڪرم ڪر. ان کي امن، خوشحالي، انصاف ۽ سٺي قيادت عطا ڪر. جيڪي ڏکن ۾ آهن، انهن جا ڏک دور ڪر. جيڪي ضرورت مند آهن، انهن لاءِ رزق جا در کول.

اسان جي دلين مان حسد ختم ڪر ۽ اخلاص پيدا ڪر. اسان کي اهڙو برادري بڻاءِ جيڪا علم، خدمت، ايمانداري ۽ محبت سان سڃاتي وڃي.

We are pleased to share a significant achievement with our Excellence Medical and Skin Care Clinic community.

Dr. Sharmeen Shaikh has successfully completed her Master of Science (MSc) in Clinical Dermatology from the University of South Wales, graduating with Distinction on January 26, 2026. This accomplishment reflects years of dedication, rigorous evidence-based clinical training, and an unwavering commitment to excellence in both medical and aesthetic dermatology.

In addition to holding a Diploma in Dermatology and Board Certification in Aesthetic Medicine and Women’s Health, Dr. Shaikh has over 16 years of experience in the diagnosis and management of skin diseases.

Dr. Shaikh is also an active member of a research-focused women’s health team, with extensive work in lichen sclerosus and vulvar lichen sclerosus. She sees patients from across the country for these conditions and is actively involved in clinical research, education, and awareness initiatives aimed at improving early diagnosis, long-term management, and quality of life for affected patients.

Earning an MSc in Clinical Dermatology represents advanced expertise in the management of complex dermatologic conditions, as well as modern aesthetic and women’s health care. This achievement further strengthens our mission to deliver innovative, results-driven, and patient-centred treatments supported by advanced clinical knowledge.

Dr. Shaikh’s ongoing commitment to education and research is driven by her passion for skin health, personalized patient care, and remaining at the forefront of dermatologic science.

SANA Edmonton Chapter proudly celebrated Sindhi Cultural Day on December 7, 2025.

The SANA Edmonton Chapter proudly hosted a vibrant and memorable celebration of Sindhi Cultural Day, bringing together community members, dignitaries, and supporters in a demonstration of unity, heritage, and cultural pride. The event was the culmination of weeks of dedicated planning by the Chapter’s Executive Committee, volunteers, supporters, and generous sponsors whose contributions made the celebration possible.

We were honoured by the esteemed presence of SANA President Dr. Maqbool Halepota and Vice President (Canada) Mr. Naqeeb Musavi, who joined the community in recognizing the significance of Sindhi heritage.

The event was further distinguished by the participation of several honourable guests, including:

* MLA Naheed Nenshi, Leader of the Opposition in the Alberta Legislature

The success of this event clearly demonstrated that the Sindhi community in Edmonton is not only an integral part of Canadian society (God Bless Canada) but also proudly preserves its rich cultural heritage.

Finally, I would like to express my deepest appreciation to our exceptionally talented EC members: Salma Bhatti, Chapter General Secretary, and Shahida Panhwer, Chapter Treasurer. These remarkable women went above and beyond to make this celebration possible.

It is also noteworthy that the SANA Edmonton Chapter is the first SANA Chapter to be led entirely by women—Chapter Coordinator Aina Khan and all three Executive Committee members.
