Ottewell Community League Annual General Meeting Notice - June 16
🚨 SAVE OUR HALL 🚨
URGENT: Ottewell Could Lose Its Community Hall
This is not just a message, it's a reality we must face.
Ottewell was built by people who stepped up. In 1961, residents believed so strongly in this community that they leveraged their own homes to build the Ottewell Community League Hall a space that has been at the heart of our neighbourhood for over 60 years.
That same hall, the place where families gather, kids play, and neighbours connect, is now at risk of being lost.
This Community League is entirely VOLUNTEER run.
There is no City staff operating the hall, the rink, cleaning up the garbage in the grounds/spray park or the programs. Today, only a very small group of volunteers is keeping everything going, and they cannot continue to do it alone.
Without immediate help, we may lose our hall, our programs, and a vital part of Ottewell’s identity.
This is the moment our community is being tested.
If people do not step forward now, this space at the heart of Ottewell may not survive.
We need you - NOW!

Ottewell Hall 5920 93a Avenue

How You Can Help:
• Volunteer your time (even a few hours can help keep the doors open)
• Support events, maintenance, or administration
• Step into a role/share position opportunity too or come to the AGM to learn how you can get involved
This hall exists because people before us chose to act.
Examples of share position opportunities such as president, social media, newsletter, etc.
If we want it to exist for future generations, we must do the same, right now.
Attend the AGM on June 16 or if unable, message us at [email protected] to express your interest in how you can support with your time/talents.
Time is critical.
