Happy Second Sunday in Advent!
Today, we light the candle of PEACE.

Let us pray ...

God of Peace,
It feels like we need you more than ever!
Our world is full of conflicts that feel out of control.
Children are starving,
Communities are suffering,
So many people are living in daily fear.
We passionately pray that those in leadership may feel your divine presence and seek the way of peace.
We lift up those in the path of violence; may they be protected in body, mind, and spirit.
Right here at home, we pray for:
Peace in our neighbourhoods,
Peace in our homes,
Peace in our hearts.
This Advent and all year through, help us to be your peacemakers in this troubled world.
Amen.

Please feel free to share your thoughts or prayers on Advent or Peace below ...

Jesus is the word (logos). He is the embodiment of God's "Word". He is our good news, and our promise.
This seeming simple verse changes everything for us as Christians.
Take a moment to reflect on the good news of God's promise in our lives.

How would you define "WORD?" We all know what it means when we use it. But it can be difficult to define.
It is a word that has many different uses. From the literal, single unit of meaning, to the symbolic where we use it to talk about larger units of language.
What are some different examples of "WORD" being used to refer to concepts beyond the literal?
