Get a quick insight into the man, the myth, the legend behind the upcoming Bow Valley Series workshop at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity.

With deep ties to the Alberta theatre community, Darren O'Donnell is a urban cultural planner, novelist, essayist, playwright, filmmaker, performance director, and the artistic director and founder of Mammalian Diving Reflex.

His model for long-term collaboration with young people and socially-engaged artistic processes has been implemented in London, Bochum, Milan, and Berlin.

He is the author of Your Secrets Sleep with Me (2004), Social Acupuncture (2006), and Haircuts by Children and Other Evidence for a New Social Contract (2018). His performance work includes Haircuts by Children, All the S*x I’ve Ever Had, Nightwalks with Teenagers, The Last Minutes Before Mars, Everything Has Disappeared, and Teentalitarianism.

We are pushing on 100 by 100 for our 2026 Artstrek Scholarship Donation Campaign — except now it is more 100 by 95! This means that, at this point, if a 95 people donate $100 each, we will meet our fundraising goal.

And you can make your contribution go even further if you donate via Rogers' Birdies for Kids. Rogers' Birdies for Kids matches donations directed to Theatre Alberta up to 50%. But this is only available for one more week, as the program closes on August 31!
