The Dr. Dasha Goody Memorial Foundation Scholarship is an annual scholarship award program available to musical theatre students or people with a passion for the stage throughout Alberta. The Dr. Dasha Goody Memorial Foundation was established in 2004 to honour Dr. Dasha Goody who was a long-time supporter of the arts community in Edmonton. There is up to $10,000 in scholarship funding available t

his year in two categories including community and education. Dr. Goody spent her career inspiring and guiding singers and dancers of all ages. A few of her accomplishments include being a well-renowned singer, founder of the Orion Musical Theatre in the early 1950s, and creator of the Edmonton Musical Theatre Society in 1977. Many of those who have had the privilege of working with Dr. Goody have had successful professional careers including Robert Goulet, Susan Gilmour, and Dan Chameroy to name only a few. As a teacher, mentor, director and advocate of musical theatre…Dr. Goody made a lasting impact on all of those who she worked with throughout her career. To keep Dr. Goody’s memory alive and to honour the contributions that she has made to the arts community, the Board of Directors established the Dr. Dasha Goody Memorial Foundation Scholarship in 2007. The Scholarship will ensure the legacy of Dr. Goody is kept alive for years to come and will also provide valuable financial support to future Alberta stars.
