Ohtsuka Amateur Karate Foundation (AKF), Alberta The AKF dates back to 1978, and currently operates five clubs in Edmonton. The AKF is a registered non-profit organization under the Alberta Societies Act.

The Ohtsuka Amateur Karate Foundation is devoted to the advancement and teaching of Wado karate as initiated by O Hironori Ohtsuka Sensei, passed on by Sensei Masaru Shintani and interpreted by Sensei Joseph Rempel. The Ohtsuka Amateur Karate Foundation (AKF) is devoted to the preservation, advancement, and teaching of Wado-ryu Karate as envisioned by Ohtsuka Sensei, and passed on by Sensei Masaru Shintani, and now Sensei Joseph Rempel(Hachidan – 8th Dan Black Belt).
