The season may be over, but EMLL doesn’t stop there!

It’s time to come together, officially close out our 2026 season, celebrate what we accomplished, and start looking ahead to the future of our league.

This is your league, and the AGM is your chance to have a voice. Come hear the season wrap-up, help shape what’s next, and find out what’s in store for EMLL.

💛🥍 AT EMLL, WE’RE MORE THAN JUST A LEAGUE. 🥍💛

We may come together to play lacrosse, compete, and have a little fun along the way—but the people beside us matter far more than the scoreboard.

Our league is made up of different ages, backgrounds, experiences, skill levels, and personalities. We are teammates. Opponents. Friends. A community.

And even though our season is currently over, community doesn’t have an off-season.

This Su***de Prevention Awareness Month, we want to remind our EMLL family—and everyone who follows along—that you are not alone.

💛 Reach out.
💛 Check in on your people.
💛 Talk about it.
💛 Support one another.
💛 And remember: YOU MATTER.

Whether you’re having a great day or a really difficult one, there is strength in asking for help and strength in being there for someone else.

Behind every great season on the floor is a group working just as hard off it.

This crew kept the league moving all year—planning schedules, solving problems, organizing teams, answering messages, and still finding time to lace up and play on just about every roster… except green… oops 😅

From Wednesday nights to Sunday game days, they didn’t just run the league—they were part of it.

Now that the season is done on the floor, the work behind the scenes doesn’t stop. Planning, improvements, and getting ready for next year is already underway.

Thank you to our EMLL Executive for everything you do to make this league possible. 👏

🥅 The last line of defense. The first to take the blame. The first to earn the praise.

They face every breakaway, every screen, every cannon from the outside, and somehow still come back smiling (most of the time 😅).

To every goalie who suited up this EMLL season—thank you for making the impossible saves, stealing goals, and giving everyone on the floor the confidence to play their game.

Whether it was Wednesday night shinny or Sunday game day, you showed up, suited up, and stood tall in the crease.

You don't just stop shots.
You keep the game alive.

🏆 Every season has a champion. Every season builds a community.

The final chapter of the 2026 EMLL season belonged to Purple Reign, who captured the championship with a thrilling 5-4 victory over Green Bastards.

It was everything you'd hope for in a final—fast-paced, hard-fought, and decided by the smallest of margins.

Congratulations to Purple Reign on earning the title of 2026 EMLL Champions! 👑

And to Green Bastards, thank you for an incredible season and for pushing the champions right to the final whistle.

When the game ended, the rivalry gave way to what makes this league so special. One final photo. One lacrosse family. One unforgettable season.

Here's to another year of competition, camaraderie, and memories that will last long after the final horn.

What a way to kick off Championship Night.

Blu Tang Clan battled their way to a 5-4 victory over Crimson Chaos in a game that could've gone either way. Every loose ball mattered. Every save was huge. Every goal changed the momentum.

Congratulations to Blu Tang Clan on bringing home the bronze! 👏

And to Crimson Chaos—thank you for an incredible season. You pushed this game right to the final whistle and proved once again why every matchup in the EMLL is a battle.

❤️🥍 Today, we share more than just a throwback photo. We share a piece of EMLL history.

After digging through the EMLL archives, this is one of the oldest team photos we could find. Standing among this group is Jim Weller—one of the founders of the Edmonton Masters Lacrosse League.

Yesterday, we learned of Jim's passing, and our hearts are with his family, his friends, and everyone in the lacrosse community who had the privilege of knowing him.

Every league has a beginning. Every tradition has someone who believed it was worth starting.

For the EMLL, Jim was one of those people.

Without Jim and the other founders, there is no Edmonton Masters Lacrosse League. The friendships we've built, the championships we've celebrated, the Wednesday nights we all look forward to, and the community we've become all exist because they believed masters lacrosse deserved a home in Edmonton.

Even after moving back to Ontario, Jim never stopped being part of this league. He continued to follow along from afar, liking our posts, leaving comments, celebrating our milestones, and reminding us that once you're part of the EMLL, you're always family.

Thousands of games have been played, countless friendships have been formed, and lifelong memories have been made because of the foundation he helped lay.

To Jim's family, thank you for sharing him with our league. Please know that his impact on the EMLL will never be forgotten.

Jim, thank you for believing in this league and helping create something that has brought so many people together. Your legacy will live on every Wednesday night, every faceoff, every friendship, and every new player who discovers the love of masters lacrosse.

You will always be part of the EMLL family.

Rest easy, Jim. We'll never forget you. 💙🥍
