On Sunday, October 18—the day before Albertans cast their votes on 10 questions on Referendum Election Day—join your fellow NASA members and people from across the province at the Alberta Federation of Labour's Unity Rally to collectively raise our voices and make some noise for a brighter and more hopeful Alberta for everyone!

When: Sunday, October 18 | 1:00-3:00 pm
Where: Alberta Legislature Building

Bring a friend, signs, water, snacks, and a noisemaker! If you can, consider taking public transit and plan for a lengthier commute, as a large turnout is anticipated.

From Tuesday, October 13 to Saturday, October 17, you can vote at any advance voting place within your electoral division. Voting hours are 9:00 am to 8:00 pm.

Use the Elections Alberta online tool to enter your address and find the advance voting place nearest to you at:

To be eligible to vote, you must be a Canadian citizen, at least 18 years of age on Election Day, and ordinarily resident in Alberta.

Parkland’s new report shows how immigrants are being demonized in Alberta’s referendum politics, how far-right racist tropes are being laundered through official ballot questions, and why this strategy is a core feature of the separatist project.

An op-ed warning of the risks posed by the October 19 referendum to the future of the University of Alberta was published in the September 4 edition of the Edmonton Journal.

Jointly written by NASA President Quinn Benders and the presidents of the AASUA, Postdoctoral Fellows Association, and Graduate Students’ Association, the column warns that "All Albertans should be concerned about U of A's future if Alberta separates."
