We’re just six volunteers away from securing more than $70,000 to support our rink, hall, yoga, family movie nights, and other Bonnie Doon Community League programs.

Can you help by taking a shift at the Starlight Casino on June 22 or 23?

Volunteers receive:

* A free meal from the casino restaurant
* Taxi or Uber reimbursement
* Babysitting reimbursement
* Snacks and soft drinks

The Second Annual Bonnie Doon Bike Day takes place Saturday afternoon, May 30 at the rink.

Edmonton's BRT Route B2 (West Edmonton Mall ↔ Bonnie Doon via U of A) is coming, and it means big changes to 82 Avenue: reduced traffic lanes, removal of on-street parking from 109 St to 91 St, and new transit lanes.

Bike Month is all about getting out on your bike. Community Leagues are all about creating connections, both in your neighbourhood and across the city.

Sixty locations around the city have been selected, ranging from Community League amenities to City of Edmonton landmarks, neighbourhood gems to some incredible local businesses who’ve promised to reward intrepid hunters. And all you have to do to take part is ride your bike and have a Community League membership.

Here’s how it works:

1) Visit one of the designated locations on your bike.

2) Snap a picture of you/your bike at the location of your choice, then tag EFCL on Instagram () with hashtag or email your pictures to communications(at)efcl(dot)org

3) If you’re at one of the business partners, show them your Community League membership and enjoy a special reward!

The League-Wide Challenge Is Back! JUNE 1 - 30, 2026 🌟

Last year, 30 Leagues rode nearly 144,000 km- roughly four times distance around the globe! In 2026, we’re looking to blow that record off the roads and trails by bringing in more team members and exploring all parts of the city. Who’s ready to go further?!

Leagues will compete for prizes, courtesy of United Sport & Cycle, and a prize basket, in three distinct categories:

- Total Participants
- Total Team Kilometers
- Scavenger Hunt

Join Leagues across the city for a bit of friendly competition to help promote active transportation and recreation in their neighbourhoods. Grab your helmets, rally your neighbours, and let’s show the city how far we can go together.

Starting June 1, our Strava club's sport will be set to cycling only. As this is a challenge based on neighbourhood, we kindly ask that folks who do not reside in Bonnie Doon leave the club for the month. Thanks for your understanding!

We will be pausing movie night for June, July, and August and reconvening in September

On Friday, May 8th, we our going to have an outdoor windup! Parents can chat and the kids can play and enjoy the good weather! Finally
•⁠ ⁠NO Movie! Outdoor play instead
•⁠ ⁠6-8pm in the grassy area between the hall and the rink
•⁠ ⁠⁠we will order PIZZA - by donation $5/10
•⁠ ⁠⁠bring your own drinks or anything else you’d enjoy
•⁠ ⁠⁠bring chairs, outdoor blankets, balls, kites, bikes, scooters, sidewalk chalk etc.
•⁠ ⁠⁠the hall will be open for washrooms or if the weather turns!
