Specializing in the classical Indian dance form of Bharatanatyam, their exceptional talent has graced many prestigious venues across Canada, including the Feats Festival of Dance, CaNatyam Festival, and the Ragamala Music Societies of Edmonton & Calgary.

Founded in 1971 by the late Dr. Remedios Borromeo and revived in 1989 under the leadership of Elmina Cochingco and Wilfredo Dimailig, Karilagan is one of Edmonton’s premier Filipino cultural performing groups. Today, the organization continues to thrive under Elmina’s dedicated leadership as President and Head Choreographer.

For over five decades, Karilagan has proudly represented the Filipino community across Alberta, Canada, and internationally, performing at major cultural festivals, schools, and community events. As an internationally recognized and award-winning dance company, they have traveled around the world sharing the beauty of Philippine culture, earning prestigious honors like the Best Pacific Rim Group award at the International Ethnic Dance Competition in Surrey, BC. 💃 Who’s ready to feel the live rhythm of Ballet México Lindo of Alberta on stage? Founded in 2009 by Gabriela Jessome, Ballet México Lindo is a community-based cultural dance group dedicated to preserving and promoting the vibrant traditions of
Mexico and Latin America through dance, music, and cultural education. Bringing together children, youth, and adults, the group celebrates diversity, fosters cultural pride, and builds community through artistic expression. 🎻 Ready to be absolutely amazed by our community's youth talent this July 1st? Meet Megan! Performing from the talented brother-sister duo group The Tajas' TUNES, Megan is a gifted 16-year-old musician whose music reflects a rich blend of cultural heritage and youthful passion. Born in Beijing, China to Cameroonian parents and now living in Canada, she began her musical journey right here in Edmonton, Alberta, where she was introduced to music at an early age through formal training.

Megan plays the piano and the violin but is a deeply dedicated violinist with a particular passion for the instrument. She is a member of the esteemed Edmonton Youth Orchestra and received the Ellaine Dunbar Scholarship for Piano in 2022 at The Edmonton Music, Speech and Arts Festival. Her disciplined approach and highly expressive style have made her a standout in solo performances. Outside of her musical pursuits, she enjoys playing sports such as basketball and soccer, embracing a well-rounded and active lifestyle. 🙌
