Volunteers needed – Lac Ste Anne walleye capture and gamete harvest and fertilization

Provincial biologists are looking for volunteers. They wait for the ice to come off and water temperatures to reach 7 degrees Celsius. Typically it is the first week of May.
They need help bringing fish in to spawn and stirring of eggs. The transport of fish can be a little challenging with walking on soft, uneven ground carrying a net with 2-3 Walleyes. Stirring of eggs is great if someone does not want to do the fish transport. If there is interest in helping we can provide updates on ice conditions and start dates as we get closer.
