This World Mental Health Day, we’re recognizing this year’s theme: “Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change.”

Every story matters. In Alberta, about 1 in 5 people will experience a mental health or addiction challenge, and many Albertans still face barriers to getting the support they need.

At Cornerstone Counselling, we believe meaningful change begins when people are listened to without judgment, and when lived experience helps shape compassionate, accessible care. Your voice matters. Your story matters. You matter.

If you or someone you love needs support, we’re here to help. 💜

📚 Reading Corner: No Bad Parts by Richard C. Schwartz

This month, we’re recommending No Bad Parts, a compassionate guide to understanding the different parts of ourselves. Richard C. Schwartz invites us to approach even our most critical thoughts with curiosity and kindness, helping us recognize that every part has a purpose and deserves understanding.

A thoughtful read for anyone looking to build greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and healthier ways of coping with inner criticism. 💛

Cornerstone Counselling had a wonderful time at the 5th Annual Hullabaloo at the HUB last Saturday at the Castle Downs YMCA! 🎉

The event brought families and caregivers together for an afternoon of fun, connection, and community support. With more than 40 community agencies sharing information, families had the opportunity to learn about programs, services, and resources available in North Central Edmonton.

We’re grateful to the North Central Edmonton Family Resource Network (NCFRN) and all the organizers, agencies, and volunteers who made this free family event possible. Thank you for welcoming us, we loved being part of it! 💛
