Crestwood Community League

Crestwood Community League Established in 1917, Crestwood Community League is the oldest continuous Community League in Edmonton and Alberta.

History
The Crestwood Community League is the "oldest" continuing Community League in Edmonton and Alberta. It is believed to be the oldest continuing Community League in Canada. Situated in Northwest Edmonton, our community was founded in 1917 by a group of residents as the "142 Street Community League". Based on the ideas of a Neighborhood and Social Club whose origins are from New York State, i

t later stressed a wider use of existing public facilities, and a co-operative joining of residents in a community for civic, social and recreational activities. Despite many challenges over the decades, that philosophy continues to exist within our community.

THE CASE OF THE MISSING MONUMENT🕵️‍♂️

Just outside the West doors of the hall was a bronze cast monument acknowledging those who contributed to the development of the Crestwood playground.

⚠️ Sometime between May 26 and the morning of May 30, the monument went missing. It has been removed from the rock on which it was mounted.

We are asking neighbours to consider checking doorbell cameras and reporting any information they may have regarding the plaque’s whereabouts. Please also share this post with your neighbours who may not have access to social media.

📞 Please report any information to the EPS non-emergency line at 780-423-4567

JOIN US TONIGHT for an evening of discussion with members of the Edmonton Police Service, right here at your Crestwood Community League! We are so grateful for EPS’ commitment to engaging directly with our community and generously making themselves available for this event.

🗓️ Monday, April 27, 2026
⏰ 6:30pm - 8:30pm
📍 14325 96 Avenue NW

This event is open to Crestwood residents and our surrounding neighbours and is completely free to attend. Light refreshments will be available.

💡 For this session, we’ll be joined by several different members of the EPS who will provide a brief presentation, followed by a Q&A panel. This is a unique opportunity to learn, have your questions answered, raise concerns, and have an open dialogue with local law enforcement.

We hope to see you there!

Due to the return of… what feels like our 5th winter ❄️, we’ve made the call to postpone this Saturday’s event.

📅 New date: Saturday, May 2

The upside? If you couldn’t make it before, now you can.

Thanks for your flexibility! We’re looking forward to better weather, a great turnout, and an even better BBQ 🌭

Hope to see you there!
