We were proud to connect with the next generation of leaders at the University of Fredericton MBA program, sharing how the Alberta Paramedic Association is driving forward-thinking initiatives in paramedicine.

By collaborating with academic programs, we’re not just responding to today’s challenges, we’re helping shape the future of healthcare leadership.

Innovation happens when experience meets fresh perspective, and we’re committed to building those bridges.

Today, we pause.
Across Canada, the National Day of Mourning is a time to remember and honour workers who have lost their lives, been injured, or become ill because of their work. It is also a day to renew our collective commitment to safer workplaces and preventing further tragedy

As paramedics, we are not only responders to emergencies, we are advocates for prevention, education, and a stronger culture of safety across all workplaces.

On this Day of Mourning, we stand with workers, families, and partners across Alberta and Canada to remember, to reflect, and to recommit.

Remembrance must lead to action. We remain committed to safer systems for all.

It is encouraging to see continued collaboration focused on strengthening emergency care across Alberta

Thanks to Matt Jones, Minister of Hospital and Surgical Health Services and MLA for Calgary-South East, for sharing insights from the latest Acute Care System Priority Working Group discussions.

At the Alberta Paramedics Association, we know that real progress in Emergency Health Services comes from strong coordination across the entire healthcare system, from paramedics on the front lines to emergency departments and leadership tables.

These conversations around modernization, system pressures, and integration are critical to supporting paramedics and improving patient outcomes across the province.

We’re looking forward to seeing how this work continues to move forward.

This isn’t just simulation, it’s integration.

At NAIT’s multi-discipline mass casualty exercise, paramedic students work alongside nursing, lab, and diagnostic imaging students to move patients from scene to care seamlessly.

Alberta Paramedics Association is so proud to support this environment, where education, collaboration, and research come together to strengthen how we communicate, transition, and care for patients as one system.

Paramedics are participating in a Mass Casualty Incident training exercise at NAIT this weekend to strengthen readiness and emergency coordination. NAIT continues to lead in paramedicine training through its P*P and ACP programs, combining simulation and hands-on experience.

Alongside paramedics, we had medical physicians, LPNs, respiratory technicians, medical laboratory technicians and assistants, plus dedicated preceptors from each field.

Also joined by fire fighters/ACPs, RCMP, Military, and EMS (Medavie!)—a powerful day of collaboration toward better care and stronger systems.
