On National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day, we honour the children who never returned home, the Survivors of residential schools, and the families and communities who continue to carry the impacts of these systems.
Today, we reflect on the importance of truth, learning, and meaningful action toward reconciliation.
At Women Building Futures, our team recently participated in an Indigenous-led workshop that deepened our understanding of the significance of Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn from Indigenous voices, perspectives, and teachings, and we recognize that reconciliation is an ongoing journey that requires commitment every day of the year.
As an organization dedicated to creating pathways to economic security and inclusive workplaces, we remain committed to listening, learning, and building relationships grounded in respect.
We encourage our community, including future students, alumni, industry partners, and supporters, to take time today to learn, reflect, and consider how each of us can contribute to reconciliation in our workplaces and communities. 🧡
