We Did It! 🎉📚

A huge thank you to everyone who donated and supported GenNEXT's Ready, Set, Learn: Preschool Supply Drive, whether by contributing supplies or serving as a drop-off location.

Together, we collected an incredible 1,348 preschool supplies for children and families supported by ABC Head Start Society (ABC Head Start / Preschool).

GenNEXT set a goal of collecting 850 items in celebration of United Way's 85th anniversary. Thanks to your generosity, we exceeded that goal by nearly 59%! 👏🏻

Because of you, more children will start their learning journey confident, prepared, and ready to thrive. Thank you — we couldn’t have done it without you! ❤️

Financial anxiety is rising across Alberta, impacting everyday life across the province and hitting Edmonton even harder.

New data from the UWCC Financial Anxiety Index, conducted with Léger, shows that nearly two-thirds of Albertans are experiencing anxiety when thinking about their finances, while close to half are living paycheque to paycheque with little to no buffer. In Edmonton, financial anxiety is even more widespread, with residents reporting the highest levels in the province.

What this tells us is that financial anxiety is no longer a personal challenge — it’s a growing community issue affecting health, well-being, and the ability to plan for the future.

This aligns with what United Way of the Alberta Capital Region is seeing across communities: growing demand for supports, and increasing need for long-term solutions that strengthen financial resilience.

Alongside our community partners and 211 Alberta, we are working to ensure people can access the support they need and build more financial stability in their daily lives.

The impact of support isn’t always visible in the moment.

Sometimes, it shows up years later.

Like Ttchtchara, whose story shows how the right support can stay with someone far beyond the classroom. Through All in for Youth, she found consistency, encouragement, and a place to belong during a time when life felt overwhelming. Today, she’s giving that same support back to young people in our community.

It’s the kind of lasting impact EPCOR has believed in since All in for Youth began in 2016. For years, EPCOR has stood behind the program, supporting wraparound services that help young people reach their full potential.

We’re thankful to for their longstanding support of All in for Youth and for matching every donation made until June 20, helping even more local students access the support they need.

"If it weren't for their support, I wouldn't be where I am today."

Those were just a few of the words Ttchtchara, an All in for Youth graduate, shared this morning during her conversation with Global News Morning Edmonton alongside Rob Yager.

Reflecting on her experience in the program, Ttchtchara spoke about the support that helped shape her journey. Today, she is giving back as a Youth Programmer with BGC Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton & Area, supporting local youth just as others once supported her.

As All in for Youth celebrates 10 years of helping students succeed, you can help create more stories like Ttchtchara's. Until June 20, every donation will be matched dollar for dollar thanks to EPCOR Canada!

Periods are normal, access to period products should be too!

Menstruation is natural, yet stigma and rising costs continue to limit access to period products. In fact, 1 in 6 Canadians can’t afford them, creating barriers to work, school, and everyday life.

Today, on , let’s help put an end to period poverty because menstrual health matters.

United Way’s initiative is committed to creating menstrual equity by increasing access to free menstrual products, but we can’t do it alone.

When Ttchtchara joined All in for Youth in Grade 10, she found more than academic support.

She found consistency, safety, and caring adults who listened when life felt overwhelming.

Today, she’s giving that same support to young people facing challenges of their own. That’s the ripple effect of support made possible by people like you.

Thanks to EPCOR Canada, every gift made by June 20 will be matched 2X to help more students access the support they need to keep going.
