๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’› A Peek Inside: The First Meeting of Our Fiscal Year!

We gathered for our first fiscal meeting of the year and it was full of special moments and fresh energy for the season ahead!

๐Ÿ’ผ We were proud to welcome in our new Executive for 2024-2025:
Sarah was officially inducted as President, alongside Kim as Vice-President and Barb as 2nd Vice-President. A big thank you to North Zone Governor Cherryl for joining us to lead the ceremony!

๐ŸŒธ We also had the chance to thank our incredible outgoing President, Heather, for her two amazing years of service. Kristi presented her with flowers and a card signed by the CPC SILKS, and weโ€™re so happy sheโ€™ll remain on the Executive as Past President.

๐Ÿ’ป Another highlight? Welcoming returning member Colleen back into the CPC SILKS family! She Zoomed in to join us from out of town and was officially inducted back in. Weโ€™re all looking forward to giving her a big welcome hug when we see her in person.

As always, it was a joy to gather, reconnect, and plan for the year ahead. The CPC SILKS are ready to make a difference, and weโ€™d love for you to join us!

๐Ÿ“ฉ Curious about what we do or thinking about joining? Reach out anytime to attend a meeting and see what weโ€™re all about.

๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’› Table Talk with the CPC SILKS โ€“ Round Four: Playoffs Edition

At our latest meeting, we sparked some playoff spirit by asking the group: โ€œWhich NHL team are you cheering for in the playoffs?โ€

No surprises as the Edmonton Oilers were the fan favourite, with a few cheering on the Toronto Maple Leafs and one dedicated supporter rooting for the Winnipeg Jets!

Which team are YOU backing this playoff season? Tell us in the comments and let the friendly rivalry begin! ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿฅ…

๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’› Getting involved and giving back: itโ€™s what weโ€™re all about!

Our CPC SILKS were proud to volunteer at the SCOSA booth during the City of St. Albert Lifestyle Expo. Kristi and Lorraine (pictured here!) helped spread the word about the amazing service clubs in our city; other volunteers sold 50/50 tickets to support SCOSAโ€™s initiatives.

We also had Cherryl, Marianne, and Sue volunteer their timeโ€ฆwe just didnโ€™t snag photos of them!

SCOSA (Service Clubs of St. Albert) brings local service clubs together to share volunteers, support each otherโ€™s events, and make an even bigger difference in our community.
Weโ€™re so proud to be part of it!

๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’› Charity Spotlight: Uncles & Aunts at Large

Today, in our CPC SILKS SPOTLIGHT series, weโ€™re thrilled to shine a light on Uncles & Aunts at Large (U&A), a local organization making a profound impact on children and families in our community.

Our CPC SILKS member Sue recently presented Executive Director of U&A Alice with a $15,000 donation. These funds will support the invaluable mentorship programs that Uncles & Aunts provides.

Have a look through the pictures to discover more about Uncles & Aunts at Large, including:

1๏ธโƒฃ โ€ฆthat they were founded by the Canadian Progress Club.
2๏ธโƒฃ โ€ฆthat they offer mentorship for children aged 6 to 18.๏ฟผ
3๏ธโƒฃ โ€ฆthat they have diverse programs for youth and families.
4๏ธโƒฃ โ€ฆthat they operate with a community-centric focus.

We are so proud to stand alongside Uncles & Aunts at Large, supporting their incredible work in building brighter futures for children and families in our community.

๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’› Table Talk with the CPC SILKS is back for round three!

We love a good dinner meeting, and we love it even more with some fun conversation in the mix. This weekโ€™s burning debate: Are you an Early Bird or a Night Owl?

Hereโ€™s how the answers shook out:
โ˜€๏ธ โ€ข 33% rise with the sun
๐ŸŒ™ โ€ข 44% thrive under moonlight
๐Ÿ˜ด โ€ข And 22%โ€ฆ well, letโ€™s just say theyโ€™re โ€œSleep Enthusiastsโ€.

Check out the pictures below to see who landed where! ๐Ÿ‘‡
