A BIG congratulations to three Alberta referees who represented our province at the 2026 Volleyball Canada Youth Beach Nationals in Toronto!

👉Joe Coiffe (Zone 3) refereed throughout the tournament
👉Jeremy Gray (Zone 6) was the R1 for the 18U Boys Tier 1 gold medal match
👉Shawn Shepherd (Zone 6) was selected as part of the Referee Development Team for the youth medal matches

Try sitting volleyball for FREE this fall! The Dino Women's Volleyball Club is offering a sitting volleyball program designed to introduce participants to the sport in an inclusive and supportive environment

The program is completely free and open to everyone, regardless of age, gender, ability or volleyball experience. Able-bodied athletes and athletes with an impairment are all welcome!

Led by members of the Canadian Men’s and Women’s Sitting Volleyball Teams and Dinos Club coaches, participants will learn the fundamental skills of sitting volleyball and put them into action through game play.

👉 Tuesdays, September 8 to October 27
👉 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
👉 Volleyball Academy, 5423 61 Avenue SE, Unit 150, Calgary
👉 Cost: FREE for all participants

Two online Development Coach Workshops are coming up this September!

👉 Offering #1: Sept. 13, 17, 21 & 24
👉 Offering #2: Sept. 14, 16, 20 & 22

Each workshop costs $265 + GST and includes four mandatory live online sessions.

Registration opens Sept. 1 at 12 p.m. MT and closes Sept. 10 or once the workshop is full.

The Foundations of Volleyball eLearning Module is a prerequisite.

All athletes signed during the Open Commitment Period must be posted on your club’s website or social media pages by August 28, 2026.

Publishing these lists supports transparency and allows athletes to make informed decisions before attending Fall Tryouts.

Clubs that do not meet the deadline may be subject to fines or other sanctions through Volleyball Alberta’s Discipline and Complaints Process.

🚨 FINAL REMINDER FOR CLUBS: Club Approval Applications are due August 25!

All returning clubs, as well as new clubs planning to participate in the Fall Tryout/Signing Period, must submit their Club Approval Application by August 25.

Clubs must be approved before participating in Fall Tryouts or the Fall Signing Period. If you haven’t submitted your application yet, please make it a priority before the deadline.

Once the application window closes, it will not be reopened, and late application requests may not be granted. Missing the deadline could impact your club’s ability to register teams and participate in the 2026/27 season.

👉 Deadline: August 25

New clubs not participating in the Fall Tryout/Signing Period have until September 30 to complete the Club Approval Form.
