Joining us for filmmaker panel is Kaitlan Stewart (Fenix Film & Television), Brock Michell (DDG), and Kamela Parel-Nuttal to discuss their experiences producing in the Alberta Film and Television industry. Panel will be moderated by DOC Alberta Chair Kelly Wolfert.

Following by the panel will be an in-depth workshop "Do It Right: Prep for the Unplanned" with Entertainment Lawyer Gregory Pang from RedFrame Law.

The event will close with more networking time to discuss with experts in the room about any specific questions you may have.

This event, in partnership with the Alberta Film Commission, is intended to educate emerging and mid-level filmmakers on the processes and procedures involved in setting up your production and how you can avoid costly mistakes.

SEEKING 2nd AC/DMT for DEPT 9 WEBSERIES

We’re looking for a 2nd AC/DMT for 1 day of prep (March 7th for less than 8 hours) and 3 days of shooting (March 8-10 for 12 hours + lunch) on a web-series. The rate is $150 for the prep day and $250/day for the shoot days.

The producer is Dept 9 (https://dept9studios.com) and the days we’re looking to hire for would take place at their studio facility (see the link for more info).

David Baron is the DP.

The DMT portion of the job would simply require copying cards and backing up the media. The laptop with the necessary software and harddrives will be supplied.

When not working as a DMT, you’d be working as a 2nd AC. Responsibilities include assisting with lens swaps, putting down marks for actors and slating, in addition to any other requests from the 1st AC or camera operator.

𝐌𝐄𝐄𝐓 𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐏𝐀𝐍𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐓: Rebecca Sadowski is an Edmonton-based /queer performer, , and dance instructor. She is an artistic member of the Good Women Dance Collective and curates dance programming for the Nextfest Festival. She currently works for the City of Edmonton as a curatorial assistant with the Heritage Collection.

Rebecca’s choreography has been presented by Good Women Dance Collective, Mile Zero Dance, The Expanse Festival, Nextfest Festival, Alberta Culture Days, and Edmonton Fringe Theatre
with Alberta Opera. Her self-produced dance film, The Sash Maker, has been presented with Native Earth Performing Arts, Talking Stick Festival, ImagiNative, and Flying Canoe Festival.

She has performed with Punctuate! Theatre, Northern Light Theatre, and The Citadel Theatre, and has toured across Canada. Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Ryerson University and continues to deepen her connection to her roots by learning and the traditional skill of finger-weaving sashes.
