Official McQueen Community League page. CODE OF CONDUCT

The short version: Be Neighbourly. No illegal activity shall be conducted or promoted.

The MCL is a diverse community of individuals composed of residents and MCL membership who have diverse opinions, values, and beliefs. The MCL BD respects this diversity and asks users to do the same. The MCL BD requires all participants to adhere to a few simple MCL BD FBP approved guidelines:

Be kind and respectful to all participants. Posts that attack, bully, harass, threaten and the like s

pecific groups, individuals, residents, neighbours, other participants and/or the MCL BD its staff and/or volunteers will not be permitted and will be removed. The MCL FBP cannot be used as a means to air grievances with other participants of the MCL FBP, residents and/or members of the MCL. No hateful speech; discriminatory comments regarding race, ethnicity, religion, gender, disability, sexual orientation or political beliefs.

🚧 I’m sure some of you have already noticed a few changes starting to happen on your streets!

The City of Edmonton has begun installing the Vision Zero Street Lab measures throughout McQueen, including curb extensions, speed humps and speed tables.

The plan was developed following the City’s community engagement in Fall 2025 and reflects public feedback alongside traffic data, City design standards, transportation infrastructure legislation and engineering expertise.

As installation continues, there will be some changes to familiar streets, parking areas and driving routes, and we recognize this is a big change and it may take some time for everyone to adjust.

We welcome respectful discussion in this group.

📣 Have feedback? Submit directly to the City by contacting 311. Once installation is complete, the City will review community feedback along with traffic data to determine whether any adjustments are needed.

What a great way to wrap up another McQueen outdoor soccer season! ⚽🧡

A huge thank you to all of our incredible coaches, parents, and volunteers. Your time, dedication, and enthusiasm are what make our soccer program so special.

We were lucky that the rain held off, giving everyone the chance to enjoy hot dogs, treats, and, most importantly, time together as a community (alongside the mosquitos).

Extra good luck to our U11 Boys team as they head into the City Finals starting tomorrow!

Drop-In Green Shack Program starts June 29!

Every day, program leaders host free games, challenges and activities that are sure to get kids active and having fun. A list of activities and special events is posted on the side of the Green Shack each week. Activities are catered to children 6 - 12, however all ages are welcome.

NEW in McQueen! 🏀⚽

As part of a partnership between the City of Edmonton and Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities, two self-serve sports equipment lockers have been installed in McQueen (and across Edmonton) to make it easier for everyone to get active and enjoy outdoor recreation.

**How it works:**
- Download the Equip Sport app
- Unlock the locker and grab your equipment
- Return it when you're done so others can enjoy it too

Please help keep this program running smoothly by returning equipment promptly and treating it with care. Enjoy!

Hawrelak Park Grand Reopening
🗓 Saturday, May 30 from 11 am - 4 pm

This exciting event marks the completion of all construction and the return of full park services. The celebration will feature various activities across the park throughout the day.

- Regular household items, yard clean up (i.e. fencing, branches), and general waste (i.e. wood, asbestos free construction materials).

Examples of Unaccepted items:
- Mattresses will not be accepted.
- Items that can go to the ECO station, such as: appliances, batteries, chemicals and cleaners, hazardous/bio-hazardous waste, pressurized gas, propane etc.
