Our last meeting was spent on some additional training and fine tuning all the preparations for our “Built for Success Fundraiser”

Last week, Build Together and Building Trades of Alberta (BTA) joined Women Building Futures for its 2026 Alumni Connections Event! Together with BTA affiliates United Association Local 488 and Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Local 1 Alberta, we discussed the amazing careers the unionized trades offer to the incredible women in attendance.

Build Together Chair Angelique Lachance shared her insights with WBF's alumni on starting a new career in the trades, drawing on her own experience as a proud member of Ironworkers Local 725.

We thank the WBF team for welcoming us to this event and for all the work they do to support women building their skills in the trades!

✨This week we celebrate Woman in Construction! 👷🏽‍♀️🔧🏗️🚜🔩🧱🔨✨ We appreciate the opportunity to be a part of the “Build Her Up” Conference facilitated by and , where Alanna Marklund, UA Canada participated on the Keynote Panel to discuss intersectionality within “Woman in the Trades”

In case you missed the Panel, we hope that you made your way to the Build Together booth where Kayla, Carrie and Melissa had information for all that are considering a career in the unionized building trades!

Thank you to everyone that participated and attended it was great to be a part of yet another culture change movement promoting women and gender diverse people in the skilled trades✨

Build Together - Women of the Building Trades of Alberta was well-represented at the Careers Internship Fair by Millwrights Local 1460 Alberta member, Kayla Lamouche!

Our Build Together team is made up of incredible women representing each of Alberta's Building Trades Unions. They work together to grow women's participation in the trades and break barriers, helping our female members build greatness!
