🌈 Meet The Board Member! 🌈 Alex!

Alex is the Board Treasurer for the Dragonflies Unite Foundation.

Alex was shown a volunteers needed listing for photographers for Camp Dragonfly in 2024, signed up and never looked back. He does the photography for various events throughout the year and jumped at the chance to help build Dragonflies Unite!

When not working with the foundation, Alex sits on two other non profit boards, bottle feeds kittens for the Camrose and Area Animal Shelter Society, runs a car detailing business and does wildlife, landscape and lifestyle photography. He and his husband homeschool 3 of their 4 children and are brand new grandparents.

🌈 Meet The Board Member! 🌈 Ella!

Ella is a Member at large for the Dragonflies Unite Foundation.

Ella is a member of the Dragonflies Unite board and a long time volunteer for camp. Her passion for camp started when she found community and acceptance at summer camp as a child and has only grown since. She has worked with q***r and neurodivergent youth across multiple organizations in education and youth programming.

Ella is proud to be helping nurture the potential of Dragonflies. When not working with camp Ella can be found puttering around in her forge or the woods.

🌈 Meet The Board Member! 🌈 Larissa!

Larissa is a Member at large for the Dragonflies Unite Foundation.

Larissa’s relationship with Camp Dragonfly began as a parent of kiddos who fell in love with camp after their first summer. Since then, her entire family (bio, intergenerational, and chosen) has blossomed through interactions with Dragonfly events and community.

Larissa is currently completing a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and gender studies, focusing their work on the experiences of Autistic and Q***r folks. When she’s looking to relax Larissa likes to throw herself down mountains on a bike or get lost in their garden.

IDAHBT Stands for International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia. On 17 May, communities around the world will make themselves visible, including in countries where doing so carries legal risk. LGBTQIA+ people have always been at the heart of movements for justice and freedom.

Here at Camp Dragonfly our mission is to bring trans and gender creative children together for creativity, connection, and celebration. By hosting a summer camp that encourages self-exploration and affirmation, we embrace children of all identities and experiences.
