Behold, our summer/fall schedule! β€οΈπŸ§‘πŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’œπŸ©·πŸ€πŸ©΅πŸ€ŽπŸ–€

We will continue to make updates as certain events come closer, but this is overall the schedule we will stick to!

Please reference this for days that we will be physically present on Pride Corner (Whyte Ave and 104 St) or for events we are on location for.❣️

After a long winter, we can’t wait to get back out there with our music, dancing, flags and signs! If you’ve never joined us, we would love to meet you!

Q***r and trans rights aren’t going anywhere, and we will proudly take up space with joy, resiliency and community.

Let’s go 2026! ❀️‍πŸ”₯πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈπŸŒˆπŸͺ©πŸŽΆπŸͺ§

We had the chance to be part of Evergreen’s GSA Trans Day of Visibility event and tabling fair, and it was such a strong reminder of what real community support for q***r youth looks like. πŸ₯ΉπŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈπŸŒˆ
From the panel of speakers to the many organizations showing up and sharing resources, the whole event was thoughtful, intentional, and incredibly well put together.

You could FEEL the care in the room, not just in what was said, but in how space was made for connection, learning, and visibility. πŸ’•
Events like this MATTER.

They remind young people that they are not alone, that there are people and communities ACTIVEly showing up for them, and that support exists beyond just words.

Huge appreciation to Evergreens GSA team and to everyone who organized, spoke, tabled, and showed up. It made an impact. πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈπŸŒˆ

*Thanks to Jamie and Jodi for the borrowed photos. And check out that pizza!

Trans Day of Visibility is not just about being seen. It’s about being respected, protected, and able to exist without fear.

At Pride Corner on Whyte, visibility has never been passive. It looks like showing up in public spaces, holding signs, starting conversations, and making it clear that trans people belong here, exactly as they are. 🫢

Because right now, visibility comes with risk. It shouldn’t, but it does. And that makes it even more important that it is not carried alone. πŸ’•πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈ

To the trans community, you are not an issue to debate or a headline to argue over. You are part of this community, and you MATTER here. You are not just seen, you are loved, and you are appreciated. πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈπŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈ

And to everyone else, visibility is not just something to witness. It is something to stand alongside. It is in how you speak up, how you challenge harm, and how you choose to show up when it COUNTS.

We will keep showing up for our community. Not just today, but every time it matters. πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈπŸ’•

Today is National two spirit Awareness and Celebration Day. πŸͺΆπŸŒˆπŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈπŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

Two spirit people have always been here. Long before Pride flags. Long before crosswalks. Long before Pride Corner.

Two spirit identity is rooted in Indigenous cultures, languages, and ways of knowing. It is not a trend. It’s not interchangeable and it is not ours to redefine.

That means being intentional about whose voices are centered, whose knowledge we are learning from, and how we show up. πŸ™πŸ½

We celebrate the strength and leadership of two spirit people, and at the same time, recognize the ongoing impacts of colonial systems. And continue learning how to move beyond visibility toward respect and understanding. 🫢🏾

This month’s indoor community event is something special. On Friday, March 13, guest host Asal Andarzipour will be leading a cooking class, where we will be making the delicious Iranian dessert - halva. ✨

Asal is an Iranian Canadian visual artist, curator, and designer whose work explores themes of displacement, collective trauma, and body politics. A Juried Member of the Alberta Society of Artists, she integrates art, research, and activism into her daily life and community practice.

We’re also going to say out loud what a lot of us are feeling:

The past few days have been extremely heavy. The news cycle moves fast, the comments move faster, and suddenly entire communities are being blamed for the actions of one person.

Trans folks are NOT responsible for violence committed by one individual.
Trans youth deserve safety.
Trans adults deserve dignity.
Full stop.

We’ve seen this pattern before. We know how quickly transphobia gets amplified. It lands hardest on trans folks, and especially trans youth. πŸ’œ

Everyone processes grief and hard times differently, and all are valid. Tomorrow, we will trade pins and stickers. We’ll laugh. We’ll connect. We’ll celebrate being q***r, trans, and allies.

In addition, we will also open a separate space at the Pride Centre for a grief and sharing circle.

Nothing formal or forced. Just space. To process. To vent. To sit quietly. To breathe.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, angry, scared, numb, or just plain exhausted, you are NOT alone. Community leans on each other. Community is stronger than headlines. And joy, even right now as tough as it is, is still resistance.

See y’all tomorrow. Bring your pins. Bring your heart. Bring yourself exactly as you are. β€οΈπŸ§‘πŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’œπŸ©·πŸ€πŸ©΅πŸ€ŽπŸ–€

While we hold space for the victims and families in Tumbler Ridge, we are also holding space for those in our community who are bracing for the inevitable backlash. We know the hatemongers and opportunists will use this tragedy to further demonize our beloved transgender community and we are ready for them.

Our transgender loved ones are a vital, beautiful, and essential part of our lives and this world and we cherish each of you. Toronto Pflag unequivocally continues to love, support and advocate for the transgender community.
