Goba Care We support Northerners who come to Edmonton for medical travel with culturally-safe care. These services include:

1.

Goba Consulting provides three related services to ensure patients from NWT are supported while attending medical care in Edmonton, whether for scheduled or emergency medical travel. Provide advocacy and healthcare system navigation for patients and escorts
2. Connect patients to existing cultural resources through Alberta and NWT networks
3. Facilitate cultural learning for southern healthcare managers and providers caring for northern patients

Tonite I went to visit a small baby at the hospital and he’s fighting for his life 🙏🏻🦋💕🙏🏻 together me and his mom went straight to the Creator for prayers. I left her with traditional medicine to help keep her strong. Mahsi Wanda Pascal for the medicines I’m giving them to our patients and es**rts 🙏🏻🦋💕 tomorrow I visit a cancer patient and prep for sewing circle 🦋 I will soon by picking up sewing supplies and care kits 💕🙏🏻🦋 work is getting more busier and I can’t wait to get my team up and going. Plz be patient with me if I don’t respond right away, just know it’s only me working at this time🦋

While Edmonton is the main location in Alberta that receives Northern patients, sometimes people need to travel even farther.

Goba Care was able to visit Thomas and Dixie from Kugluktuk during their stay at the Ronald McDonald House in Red Deer as they waited for the arrival of their twins, Janiyah and Jerilyn.

Being away from home during such an important time can be so hard, especially in a new place, but we were so glad to see the support they received from local organizations ike the Red Deer Native Friendship Society. There are many caring resources in town ready to help out if you know where to look.

This is why Goba Care is here 🦋 we help ease some of that stress and worry. We help advocate when you just don’t know what to say because you could be mentally drained and exhausted, sometimes you just need someone to pray with, sometimes you just need a darn good hug and to know that things will somehow work out🦋

Together we raised $2010.00 that will go directly to Krysta and family to help during her cancer treatment in Edmonton 🌺

Update on Krysta Thiem fundraiser 🦋

Today Krysta and family received $2025.00 🦋💕Goba does not hold any donations. All donations received goes directly to family. Once Tiffany arrives I will go through all EMTS, names and amount to make sure no one is missed.

We will close fundraiser today at 6pm SUNDAY💕

We want to thank each of you for sending in your donation, prayers & positive words 🦋🌺this truly eases some of the worries and stress that comes with long stays away from home and work due to a cancer diagnoses and treatment.

Good morning ☕️🦋

today Goba Care will hosting traditional medicine making with our beautiful elder Wanda Pascal at Larga Edmonton for 1pm 🦋 medicines will be set aside for our people from the North fighting cancer, if you are in Edmonton and want to come join us and not feeling sick you can attend, a message from Larga to keep our medical travellers safe from catching a cold. At this time I cannot provide rides. You will need to find your awesome self to us🦋

Goba is working hard to secure funding to be able to fully provide our services. I have a mtg on Tuesday with the Federal Govt to hopefully help fund us🦋 I’m very determined to continue our services and will keep showing up for our North🦋

I’m so grateful to Sherry & David Hodgson and FOPT for making this traditional medicine event happen. We wouldn’t be able to host this event without your contributions. I also want to thank Larga Edmonton for providing us the space.

Snacks, beverages and stories will be shared today 💕🦋🌺
