https://lnkd.in/gYMkkasB For many immigrant families, the story doesn’t begin with opportunity — it begins with loss. Leaving home is never just a geographic shift; it’s a rupture. Parents walk away from careers, communities, languages, and identities they spent decades building. They step int...

Presents
'Harmony at Home'
in pictures!

Truly blessed to have such a tremendous community response to our inaugural formal program in Beaumont in recognition of Family Violence Prevention Month.

Held at the homely Beaumont 50+ Club (Le Rendez-vous), Dr. Jasneet Parmar, Mona Gill, Dr. Kulshan Gill & Dr. Prajitta Bordaloi captivated the audience as they very professionally broke the silence on the delicate subject of family violence in the South Asian community.

We were delighted to have Beaumont Mayor Lisa Vanderkwaak address the audience with a very personal family experience. RCMP Constable Shyla Delowski also shared the growing number of calls the detachment was attending to. We were also pleased to have Beaumont FCSS representative Camille Jepson on hand with resource materials. Kathryn Hotte, former President of the Beaumont Chamber of Commerce and change management consultant/coach shared her insights human psychology of managing change.

Last, but not least, a huge thank you to all the attendees for being totally engaged, and to a fantastic team of BNT volunteers who made it all possible.

Settling in a new community in Canada - past & present perspectives.

BNT-SSB Monthly Program in Beaumont on 26 October, 2025, focused on challenges South Asian newcomers faced and continue to face when settling in a new community. Special guests shared their personal experiences and how they overcame barriers and obstacles. While elements of racism and discrimination cannot be ignored, and maintaining one's identity remains important to people, adapting to and immersing in the new culture is also a vital step in the settlement process. Facing adversity with grace and dignity builds character for success.

'Cleanup Beaumont' today at Four Seasons Park

Baba Nanak Trust Foundation (BNT) and Sikh Society of Beaumont (SSB)
