HEY YEG PIONAIRS! SPRING 2026 YEG PIONAIRS UPDATE

We have several upcoming YEG Pionairs events and updates to share.

Our last event was Happy Hour at the Twin Otter Pub, with 26 in attendance. Great wings and even better conversations. We moved to a larger area, which everyone agreed was a big improvement—more space and the option to play darts (bring your own or use theirs) and pool. In the summer, we’ll also have access to the patio.

Let’s go bowling!
Date: May 7, 2026
Time: 3:00 PM
Place: Plaza Bowling Co., 10418 118 Avenue, Edmonton
Cost: $10.00 per bowler (Pionairs subsidized)

Join us for 2 hours of 5-pin bowling—pizza will be provided, and other food and drinks can be purchased. Non-bowlers are welcome at no cost. Space is limited, so please RSVP as soon as possible.

RSVP and payment are required by May 4, 2026 to [email protected]

Pionairs will also be participating in the annual Dreams Take Flight Golf Tournament.
Date: June 12, 2026
Time: (TBD by organizer)
Place: Black Bull Golf Resort, Pigeon Lake
Cost: $450.00 per team ($112.50 per golfer)

This is a negotiated rate for Pionairs. The event includes KP ($500.00 gift card), Men’s and Women’s Longest Drives, golf poker to win cash, 50/50, team prizes, as well as a raffle and silent auction. Entry also includes a steak dinner. For more information on the course, visit blackbullgolf.com.

On a more serious note, we have sent sympathy cards to the families of Captain Antoine Forest and First Officer MacKenzie Gunther, who tragically perished in the LGA crash on March 22, 2026.

We have also sent a get well card to Solange Tremblay, who is recovering from catastrophic injuries in a New York hospital. A GoFundMe has been established by her daughter to assist with living expenses for her husband and family during her long recovery, surgeries that are not covered, and rehabilitation. If you wish to contribute, please visit gofundme.com and search for Solange Tremblay.

Please follow our page, YEG Pionairs, for ongoing updates. Check pionairs.ca for regular updates and information on Exploration courses. If any of your colleagues would like to join Pionairs, click on the Join now tab.

We look forward to seeing you at upcoming events and appreciate your continued support.
