Last week, the 2026 cohort of the ELITE Program for Black Youth closed out the summer with our annual Final Technical Presentation Workshop!

Before an audience of their peers, internship hosts and families, high school and undergraduate interns shared presentations that captured the contributions, learnings, and takeaways from their summer internships.

Congrats to the interns on all their accomplishments this summer, and thank you to the program partners, internship hosts, and supporters that made this summer possible!

For a third summer, Black youth in Grades 1-9 will have the opportunity to access free camp spots through the ELITE Program and the DiscoverE Program!

This year, camp spots are available on the University of Alberta's North Campus in Edmonton and Augustana Campus in Camrose.

Since being an ELITE Program intern, Jesugbenga has expanded his software engineering skill set at some of the world's biggest companies.

The hard/soft skills, networks, and experiences he's gained will continue serving him, and the ELITE Program is proud to have played a small part in what is sure to be a long and promising career for Jesugbenga.

As a three-time ELITE Program intern, Anthony Kenyi certainly understands the value of meaningful hands-on internship experiences!

Having taken his skills beyond the ELITE Program as a Mechanical Engineering Intern for the Beumer Group, Anthony can confidently speak about the importance of work experience early in his professional life.

We’re happy to see Anthony continuing to expand his career horizons. Despite job market challenges, we encourage all youth to persist in seeking early professional experiences.
