Cats Anonymous Rescue and Adoption

Cats Anonymous Rescue and Adoption Cat Rescue and Adoption Facility Cats Anonymous is a no-kill cat adoption facility located in South-Central Ontario, Canada.

We are a registered Canadian charitable organization. Our shelter provides adoptions of cats and kittens who have been spayed or neutered, health-checked, fully vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas and ear mites, and blood tested for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Immune Deficiency Virus (FIV). Cats Anonymous also engages in a Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) program for feral cat col

onies. We truly believe that there is the perfect home for every cat, and the perfect cat for every home. We strive to match the two and ensure that our adopted cats are a part of the family, forever. Our custom-built facility boasts six rooms: Before new arrivals are integrated and permitted to mingle, they are welcomed into the Quarantine area for a 3 week period. This allows time for the cats to adjust emotionally to their surroundings, and is an adequate period for virus control (to maintain the optimal health of the cats in our care). During this time, all medical needs are met prior to gradually introducing the cats intoone of our accommodation areas. The largest of our accommodation areas, our "Community Room", is a free-roam space for cats preferring the company of other feline residents. Large windows bask the numerous plush beds with warm sunlight (perfect for napping!), while the plentiful enrichment (which includes many toys, climbing towers, and access to a naturalistic outdoor enclosure) provides constant entertainment. For cats not preferring feline company, we also provide a space for individual accommodations. Kittens and nursing mothers reside in our Nursery, which specifically addresses the more delicate immune systems of this period in their lives. Our "Special Diets" room, which provides for cats with specific dietary requirements (for either medical or weight-loss purposes) to be carefully monitored. The sixth space, the newest addition to our facility, is a three-season enclosed porch designed to house feral cats during the surgical recovery period of our TNR program.Cats Anonymous is run by a team of truly dedicated volunteers. We have no paid staff, nor do we receive any government or township assistance. Our day-to-day operations are funded through the fundraising efforts of our volunteers, and donations from people like you.You can help! Cats Anonymous is currently accepting applications for adoptions, foster homes, and volunteer opportunities! For more information on ways to help, please visit www.catsanonymous.ca

It’s me. Chippy.

Ruler of the front desk. Enforcer of boundaries. Professional swatter of hands that move too fast.

I know I look like I’ve got it all handled — the kingdom, the staff, the snacks — but between you and me? It gets a little quiet up here sometimes.

I run this shelter with an iron paw — swatting, supervising, judging and sometimes biting. But when the humans walk past my desk without stopping…when they coo over every other cat but barely glance at me…it stings more than I’ll ever let on.

I’m not broken. I’m not mean. I’m just a girl with big feelings and terrible communication skills.

I’m not easy. I know that.
But I’m loyal, and funny, and secretly sweet if you earn it.
A misunderstood queen still needs her people. 🐾

Please reach out if you want to know more about me!

A Happy Tail From the Desk of Chippy:

My goal is to get every cat out of this shelter and into a castle of their own. Today, my paws are heavy, but I need to share the final chapter of one of our alumni, Chico.

Chico's humans let us know he has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. 🌈Grief is heartwrenching, but don't call this a sad ending. Because of this family, Chico didn't spend his final years waiting in a shelter room. He lived the good life—warm, safe, and thoroughly ruling the household.

Please read this note from the family as we honor a spectacular life well-lived.

"I hope this message finds you well. It has been a number of years since we first met when we picked up Chico from your rescue — March 2020, to be exact. At that time, he was already 14 years old, and from the very beginning, he brought so much personality and warmth into our lives.

Chico was such a unique and lovable soul—a quirky, chatty Siamese who was endlessly curious and always wanted to be near us. He loved following us around the house, as if he never wanted to miss a moment. Each night, he had the sweetest bedtime routine, complete with a bit of gentle roughhousing on the bed before settling in for snuggles and pets. Those moments became some of our most cherished memories.

He also adored sitting in open windows, happily sniffing the fresh air—even in the middle of winter. At other times, we’d find him tucked under the covers or in his fish on the heated floor, perfectly content and cozy. He truly made himself at home in every way.

Over the past couple of years, we began to see Chico slow down. He was treated for a hyperactive thyroid and received monthly injections for arthritis, but he remained resilient and continued to enjoy his beloved bedtime rituals. More recently, his kidney function began to decline.

In January, we celebrated an incredible milestone—Chico’s 20th birthday. We were so grateful to have shared that moment with him. This past weekend, Chico peacefully crossed the rainbow bridge. Our hearts are broken, and we miss him more than words can express.

We are deeply thankful for the opportunity to care for him during his golden years. When we adopted Chico, you mentioned that the owner’s nephew wanted to ensure he went to a loving home. I want to reassure you that he was truly cherished and very well cared for every single day.

We’ve attached a few photos of Chico so you can see just how happy and loved he was.

Thank you, for the work you do and for bringing Chico into our lives. He will always hold a special place in our hearts."
