REPOSTED FROM British Columbia Golf

A memorable week at the 2026 BC Indigenous Championship hosted by Campbell River Golf Club. ⛳️

Representing the Mohawks of Akwesasne, Austin Krahn delivered a championship performance, capturing both the Men’s and Junior Boys titles with rounds of 69-64. His final-round 64 set a new course record and secured a dominant victory.🏆

In the Women’s Championship, Kylie Jack of the Syilx Okanagan Nation reclaimed the title she first won in 2024, while Joan Hinkey of the BC Métis Nation captured the Women’s Senior Championship. Dave Lawless of the BC Métis Nation earned top honours in the Men’s Senior Division.

The championship also served as the selection event for Team BC, with Brody Brook, Dillon Paquette, Kylie Jack, Joan Hinkey, Mitchell Krahn, Neil Lindenthaler, Cherie Williams and Jenna Kurylo earning the opportunity to represent the province at the Indigenous Challenge Match this September, where Team BC will take on Team Ontario.

Congratulations to all competitors who proudly represented their Nations throughout the week, and thank you to Campbell River Golf Club for hosting another outstanding championship.
