Stray Cats of South Cowichan could really use some extra help with vet bills. They are taking in every feral being brought in that needs help. Many are in rough shape before they can find their forever home. Check the post for ways to donate. They really do wonderful work to treat and give everyone a chance at survival ❤️🐈⬛
🐾 Intake Pause Notice 🐾
As much as we hoped we would never have to make this decision, unfortunately we do. Due to the ongoing increase in veterinary expenses, Stray Cats of South Cowichan will be temporarily pausing new intakes.
At this time, our veterinary bills have reached a level that requires our full attention. In order to remain responsible and ensure the cats currently in our care continue to receive proper medical treatment, we need to take a step back from bringing in additional cats.
This decision was not made lightly. Intake pauses are sometimes necessary to protect the long-term sustainability of a rescue and the welfare of the animals already depending on us.
We rely on the generosity of our community, and because of your support, we have been able to help 119 cats in the past year. We are very proud of the work we do and extremely grateful to everyone who has helped make it possible.
If you are in a position to help us right now, we truly need you. 💕
How you can help:
• E-transfer: [email protected]
• Vet clinic donations: Direct payments can be made to Kinsol Veterinary Clinic on our account
• Save your refundables for our monthly bottle drives
• Share our posts to help us reach more supporters
We will reassess the situation once our veterinary balance is back under control and will share an update when intakes can safely resume.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support our work and understands the importance of responsible rescue.

All cats currently in our care and the ones we have promised to bring in will still be looked after. We do have some beautiful cats waiting to be adopted as well
