A special thank you to our wonderful guests, Laura Court from the Supported Child Development Program at Clements Centre and Deanna from Métis Nation British Columbia, for joining us and helping make our last session so special.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at today's Playgroup in the Park, and a special thank you to Nariel from the Library for spending the morning with us!

A reminder that our final Playgroup in the Park session will be be held on Tuesday, August 18, from 9:30–10:30 a.m.

For our last playgroup, we're excited to welcome two special guests! Laura Court, Supported Child Development Consultant with Clements Centre for Families, and Deanna from Métis Nation BC will be joining us. Deanna will also be bringing a variety of resources to share with families.

We look forward to seeing you there for our final summer playgroup!

The Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) is hosting Duty to Report Awareness Sessions to support shared understanding of the legal obligation to report suspected child abuse or neglect under the Child, Family and Community Service Act (CFCSA).

These sessions introduce updated resources and plain-language guidance as part of MCFD’s refreshed provincial Duty to Report campaign.

This session will cover:
• What Duty to Report means and how to make a report
• What happens after you call
• Updates to the B.C. Handbooks for Responding to Child Welfare Concerns (Public and Service Provider), and common questions and myths we hear from service providers and partners

Our first Playgroup in the Park of the summer was a success! 🌞 Thank you to everyone who joined us today, we had so much fun spending the morning together.

We'll be back at the park on Tuesday, July 21, and we're excited to welcome Nadine Bartels, Island Health Dietitian, as our special guest!
