Today, Humanity for Horses Foundation pauses to recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day.

We honour the children who never returned home, the Survivors of residential schools, their families and their communities.

Today is a day to listen, to learn, to reflect and to acknowledge the lasting impacts of the residential school system on First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples.

As an organization built around compassion, care and creating a safe place for those who need it, we believe there is always room to listen, learn and do better.

Today, we wear orange.
Today, we remember.
Today, we listen.
And we recognize that reconciliation is an ongoing responsibility.

What a beautiful and powerful experience, creating space to move through grief, healing, release and connection. ❤️

Thanks to Dawn’s generosity and everyone who participated, this special offering raised an incredible $206.03 for the rescue! 🐴✨

🐴💗 TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK, HORSE LOVERS! 💗🐴

Today we had another fabulous team of volunteers out at the rescue, continuing to tackle our winter prep! 💪🍂

Today’s crew:
🔨 Dismantled 1 old shelter
🏠 Built 1 brand-new shelter & repaired some fences!
💩 P**p scooped
🌾 Fed the herd
🐴 And took care of all the daily horse care!

A HUGE thank you to Brenda, Mike, Amber, Margo, Blue & Nikki for putting in the time and hard work today! ❤️

The work can feel never-ending, but every single project completed gets us one step closer to having the herd ready for winter — and we are incredibly grateful for everyone who continues to show up and help.

We’re getting there! 🙌 We still have:

🏠 3 more shelters to build
🔨 1 shelter to cover
🛠️ 2 shelters to repair

📣 AND WE STILL NEED VOLUNTEERS!

There is lots of work left to do before the winter weather really sets in. If you’re handy, willing to work and want to spend some time helping the herd, we would LOVE to hear from you! 🙏🐴

First, we didn’t quite meet our match last night — but we came SO close!

A huge thank you to Karen and Melissa, who helped us raise another $125, leaving us just $35 SHORT! ❤️

And thankfully, our wonderful supporter has graciously extended the match until NOON TODAY! 🙌

Every dollar donated before noon is doubled, and we are literally just $35 away from making this happen!
