Cowichan Bowman Junior Olympian Program - Archery

The British Columbia Archery Association (BCAA) has recognized the need for a developmental program for junior archers. The main purpose of this program is to encourage maximum participation in the sport.

If the program is followed step by step, all participants should be able to develop their abilities to the maximum, and at the same time enjoy the oldest of sports. Long term training will encourage the pursuit of excellence with the possibility of JOP archers reaching Olympic and international standards as they progress.

The Junior Olympic Program at the Cowichan Bowmen Archery Club runs on Monday nights from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. For more information contact the J.O.P. Director at the following link https://www.cowichanbowmen.com/contact

Junior Olympian Program

The Junior Olympian Program (JOP) is designed to recognize young archers for their achievements and give encouragement for improvements.

As certificates are earned, each youth develops archery skills, builds confidence and eventually the ability to perform in competition. Goals include recognizing fair play, courtesy and good sportsmanship with the emphasis placed on safety and individual performance.

The program is open to youth archers aged 6 to 20 (as of December 31 of current year). Youth should have their own bow and arrows, arm guard and finger protection. Sights and/or releases are optional. Individual clubs may choose to provide equipment until it is determined what set-up would work best for each athlete.

Feel free to reach out to us with any questions you may have about the club. We will return your message as quickly as possible!
