For our October Coffeehouse we are welcoming Rahael, who creates music like an open journal, pouring every peak and valley into her songs. Themes of self-love, growth and family, paired with heart-wrenching melodies, will have you humming along.

We will also be trying a little community Gordon Lightfoot sing-along in addition to our regular Open Stage. Join us October 10 at Duncan United Church Hall, 246 Ingram Street, Duncan. Doors at 7:00 pm, Open Stage at 7:30 pm.

As always, admission is $5 for members and $10 for the public; open stage performers attend free.

Before Islands Folk Festival 2026 kicks off NEXT MONTH. (www.islandsfolkfestival.ca/tickets), Cowichan Folk Guild has just one more Coffeehouse Concert left before we pause and pick up again in September!

Our June 13th artist carries some serious cred amongst his peers and with music lovers across Canada. He is a guitar player who tells great stories in song, and a natural performer with an instinct for humour and storytelling.

“With the end of the world, Ben Sures manages to articulate with brave gallows humour, what are very legitimate concerns for us all. It reminds me of the best Loudon Wainwright songs. Funny, sad, and truthful.” -Ron Sexsmith

A classic CFG night of community and song! The group photos were an afterthought so we missed Brent, Michelle and Chuck but along with Kelly, Lindsay, Malakai, Katie, Claire and Bill, their beautiful contributions to “80 Years Young” were still ringing in all of our ears.

In Spite of Ourselves: A Celebration of the Music of John Prine

Featuring the Paperboys' Tom & Kalissa Landa and fellow performers Doug Cox and Steve Mitchell, who we haven't seen in these parts for a while. This show is taking place at the absolutely beautiful Khowutzun Heritage Centre and we are really looking forward to holding a show at the edge of the river again.
