What a beautiful response from our community! Our "Pay-It-Forward" Lunch Board (okay, it's a cup!) has some pre-purchased meal tickets, at the ready for anyone who comes by the Club and could use a warm meal.
Simply take a ticket from the cup on the counter, present it to staff and have a seat! It's just that simple. No fuss, no questions, always service with a smile!
To donate meal tickets, you can buy them for $10, either at the Club or via etransfer to: [email protected] (put PIF lunch in the message line).
A heartfelt thanks to our recovery community!

"Pay-It-Forward" meals at the Club! Members and guests can purchase a "Pay-It-Forward" meal ticket for $10, which any patron may use for breakfast or lunch. No questions asked! Purchased tickets are placed in a "ticket" cup on the counter, which anyone may present to staff for a meal. A great way to support our community, in dignity and service!

It is with a very heavy heart that we mourn the loss of our dear friend and fellow Board member, Bob Cringan.

Bob was instrumental in getting the Alano Club going on Whistler Street during Covid. The board at the time was dismantled and Bob was the only one that stayed and was able to get other members to join and create a new viable board. For that we are eternally grateful.

Bob then took a hiatus from being on the board and volunteering at the club to enjoy a few really good years, living a life that was a direct result of his earlier work within the Club. He was asked recently if he would be willing to come back on the board and luckily for us, he said yes! Once again before he was called home, Bob worked his magic regarding the Alano Club‘s insurance policy, something none of us on the board would have known what to do or how to insure it was protecting the investment that sits within the four walls.

Bob, you will be deeply missed, but your legacy within the Club will live on. The crib tournaments will not be the same without your feisty, competitive spirit.

On behalf of the board of directors and the members of the Alano Club we thank you for all of your commitment and dedication in helping to make the Club a safe and welcoming space for all.

With love and gratitude, from your fellow members of the Cowichan Valley Alano Club and those that frequent it. Please keep the coffee on and save us a seat at the table.
