Happy Thanksgiving Weekend from your 807 producers! 🥕

There are a lot of challenges in our communities—no matter which corner of Northwestern Ontario you’re in. When we’re stuck on what to do, there are usually two solid answers:

1. Local food
2. Eat a carrot and think on it.

This young gardener already knows the second one works pretty well. 😊

What community challenges are you facing right now? Drop them in the comments—we’d love to hear (and maybe brainstorm a local-food solution together).

Homeschool Races 2027 are seeking donations!

2026 saw help from local businesses like Rock Front Family Farm, Livx Nutrition, parrsjars and a variety of local families with the ability to share.

Letter from the organizers:

We are excited to announce our upcoming Homeschoolers Running Races, taking place on October 5th, 2026! This community event brings together children ages 3 to 12 and their families for a fun day focused on health, physical fitness, and friendly competition. We are anticipating 40-50 children to be participating in this event!

To help make this day extra special for our young participants, we are reaching out to leaders like you for support.

We are currently seeking sponsorships in the form of:

• Monetary Donations: Used directly to purchase 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes for each age category as well as to purchase beverages and snacks for our participants.

• Prize Donations: Gift cards, merchandise, healthy snacks or items suitable for children ages 3–12.

Benefits of Sponsorship: In appreciation of your generosity, we would love to highlight your family or business’s support to our participating families:

• Certificate Recognition: Your business name will be printed on all award certificates presented to participants.

• Live Announcements: Your business will be publicly acknowledged and thanked during the event announcements.

Your support will help reward the hard work of our local homeschool students and demonstrate your strong commitment to our community's youth.

We have some big, important news to share with you!

First of all, as of this week, you will NO LONGER be able to order your locally grown groceries online. This means no home deliveries as well.

BUT DON’T WORRY! THIS ISN’T THE END OF THE 807 FOOD CO-OP!

We’ve run into a lot of hurdles and red tape since our conception which is why we’ve been going through so many changes over the years.

Our main goal has always been to connect local folks like you to nearby farmers and makers so you can easily find food that’s grown right in your back yard and support your neighbours while doing so!

And we wanted to do that WITHOUT extra fees or marking-up farmer’s prices.

With recent rising costs, platform fees, and government restrictions we’ve decided that to make this work long term…

WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING NO ONE’S DONE BEFORE!

But it’s going to take us some time to get everything set up and work out all the kinks!

So this is NOT GOOD BYE, but more of a see you later!

We’ll be back mid-2027 with a more sustainable way for you to find local food vendors and shop directly from them— no hidden fees, price gouging, or ripping off farmers.

SO HIT THAT FOLLOW BUTTON AND KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR OUR RELAUNCH MID-2027!

And until then, keep shopping local— even the smallest purchase makes a world of difference!

We’ll tag our vendors at the bottom so you can follow them on Facebook and continue to support them until we’re back!

If you’re a CSA supporter, you are enjoying a wide variety of local goodies right now!

Extra zucchini? The small ones are great on the grill with olive oil, salt and pepper.

The big ones we like to shred, strain and add to our meat sauces, meat balls or burgers for the freezer. Not to mention baking!

Any other tips for when you are swimming in veggies?!
