Huge thank you to the Diakonia of the United Church of Canada!

Every two years, all Diaconal Ministers plan a national gathering and this year they came together in Drumheller at the Knox United Church. Part of their time includes a silent auction where all proceeds are donated to a local non-profit organization. This year the Fig Tree was chosen alongside of another Drumheller non-profit - we recently received $1000 as a donation from this auction!

Thank you to the DUCC! This money will serve a great purpose during our expansion!

YES - EVEN IN DRUMHELLER!
A large part of the Fig Tree over the past year has been reaching out to those on the streets in the winter - with warm food and warm clothes. WE ARE READY TO TAKE THIS TO THE NEXT LEVEL! Every order of Big Chief Jerky goes directly towards our expansion hoping to launch mid November.

Current stats listed on the Second Harvest webpage. We have paired with this food rescue organization for over a year by accepting food donations from businesses and restaurants and paying it forward to families and individuals who need it. To see a mother cry while her children cheer over a couple bags of groceries being delivered to their door - that experience changes the way we view food waste.

If you are part of an organization or business who has food that The Fig Tree & Storehouse could rescue, please contact us! Every bit is paid forward - and every bit helps. Tax receipts for all contributions are also issued for both monetary and in-kind donations.

ITS OFFICIAL! The Fig Tree & Storehouse Association has now been granted Charity status from the federal government and we are finally getting ready to move forward into the next phase of our program! Please stay tuned as we prepare to launch our website by the end of this week and begin to spread the word. We will have new opportunities coming for those who need support, new ways to get involved, and a sneak-peak into future goals the FTS Association hopes to achieve for our community.

MEAT ORDER PICKUP!
MONDAY, MAY 13TH!
If you ordered from our recent fundraiser, please plan to pick up your items between 2 & 4 at React First Aid (across from Fas Gas downtown). Thank you to Kim at React for allowing us to use her space for sorting and pickups.

We cannot thank you all enough for the support we received during our meat fundraiser! We raised a total of $550 for the Fig Tree which will be put right back into our community by helping those who are struggling. As the Fig Tree & Storehouse is run on donations alone at this time, every bit helps us continue to serve. Follow our page for updates on future opportunities, fundraiser, and events.
