PCCS Pembina Crisis Connection Society

PCCS Pembina Crisis Connection Society The well-being of the community is a the heart of all the Society's activities. Office funded by the Drayton Valley and District FCSS

For over 30 years, PCCS has been a trusted organization delivering trauma-informed support, legal education, prevention and crisis intervention services to individuals impacted by family violence, rural isolation and systemic marginalization. To that end we have created this page as a space to share our vision, promote our projects and programs, and engage with community members and social agencies on the many facets of violence in our community.

June 15 is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, a day to raise awareness, start conversations, and stand together in support of older adults in our communities. đź’ś

Elder abuse can happen in many forms, including physical, emotional, financial, and neglect. Everyone has a role to play in creating safe, respectful, and supportive environments for older adults.

By learning the signs, checking in on loved ones, and sharing resources, we can help ensure older adults live without fear of being hurt, exploited, or neglected.

If you or someone you know needs support, PCCS is here to help. You are not alone.

Meet Trisha!

As Program Director at PCCS, I bring a background in social work and a deep belief that no one should have to navigate life’s challenges alone.

I’m a lifelong learner who is passionate about creating supportive, compassionate spaces where people feel heard, valued, and empowered to move forward.

My work is rooted in connection, advocacy, and helping individuals recognize their strengths while building pathways toward growth, stability, and hope.

Scammers are getting more creative every day and older adults are often targeted. That’s why resources like the Government of Canada’s Little Black Book of Scams are so important.

This guide helps people recognize common scams, protect personal information, and learn the warning signs to watch for. Knowledge is one of the best tools for staying safe.

You can pick up a copy at PCCS or find one at our community pop-ups, including the Intergenerational Conference on June 19.

Let’s continue the conversation during Seniors Week by sharing resources, checking in on loved ones, and helping keep our communities informed and protected. 💛

Say hello to Christine “Chrissy” Ross, our new Domestic Violence Legal Navigator!

Chrissy is passionate about helping people feel seen, supported, and empowered. With a background in legal assistance and community advocacy, she's here to guide survivors through the legal steps that can feel overwhelming - from protection orders to family law information and more.

Chrissy believes that no one should have to navigate these systems alone, and we're thrilled to have her compassion and expertise on our team.
