Paddling in the waters of Sen̓áḵw yesterday at our Match Day market in Concord Community Park. With all the live aboard boats moved for the games we had plenty of room out there.

We were excited that Raised by the Canoe played at International Sport Film Festival Slovenia yesertday and introduced war canoe racing to a brand new audience. It's fitting that our artisan vendor friends are sharing local knowledge with a whole international soccer crowd in Vancouver today (at Concord Community Park) who have come to watch the big game. Sports, culture, camaraderie and respectful learning all at the same time. Beautiful.

From time to time we do engagements with corporations and recently worked with Seaspan on an educational display for their employees. 2 of our board members then spoke and participated in a Q&A with staff.

Our first market at Concord Pacific Community Park was a lot of fun. We’ll be hosting them every time there is a soccer game at BC Place. There is a lot happening in the False Creek area those days and Concord Park is a great place to drop by. Come and see some amazing Indigenous artists and vendors while fist bumping our international visitors wearing their team colours.

We held our first Match Day Market in Concord Community Park yesterday to introduce the world to Indigenous art and design. A big thanks to Concord Pacific - Canada for their support in helping us host this event. It was a beautiful and hot day and we thank our summer staff who tirelessly set up tents and tables, helped move vendor supplies around and delivered cold drinks to hot people. We couldn't have done it without you.

If everyone that sees our page followed, liked and shared, we’d double our fans, which really does help with sponsors and funders. Just a thought :)

Experience the living cultures of the host Nations during the major soccer tournament in Vancouver. On every Vancouver game day, Canoe Cultures will transform Concord Community Park into a vibrant celebration of Indigenous arts, culture, and sport.

Artists, Knowledge Keepers, and cultural practitioners from the Musqueam, Tsleil-Waututh, and Squamish Nations, alongside Indigenous artists from across Turtle Island, will share their traditions, stories, and creativity with visitors from around the world.

Beginning four hours before each match, guests can enjoy traditional Indigenous sport demonstrations, cultural presentations, artisan showcases, and hands-on opportunities to connect with the rich heritage of the Coast Salish peoples and other First Nations of British Columbia.

Visitors will also have the unique opportunity to take part in Indigenous-led short canoe ride experiences on the waters of False Creek, learning about the history, significance, and enduring importance of the canoe as a vessel of culture, trade, transportation, and community.

Whether you are a local resident or an international visitor, Canoe Cultures offers an unforgettable opportunity to experience Indigenous culture in the heart of Vancouver while celebrating one of the world's greatest sporting events.

Join us at Concord Community Park on every Vancouver match day and discover the stories, art, traditions, and spirit that continue to shape these lands and waters.

Thank you Concord Pacific - Canada - Concord Social for the support in making this happen.

Our first event will start this Saturday, June 13 at 4:00PM.

It was energizing to attend the nonprofit leadership conference and we were pleased to meet so many great organizational leaders. The breakout sessions were really interesting and a theme of collaboration really fit us (attending with friends from and ). Grateful for existing partnerships and new ones that will undoubtedly emerge.

5 of us enjoyed attending the Vantage Point non-profit leadership conference to connect with other not for profit organizations (Hi Randy from Vancouver Farmers Markets and Caroline Phelps repping 2 orgs!). There were thoughtfully organized break out sessions and several opportunities for networking. It was amazing to see our guy Remko power-networking. The Indigenous Tourism BC ambassador program has been invaluable in his professional development and it was a delight to see him continue to shine at this event as he broadens his horizon and skill sets. And of course our own Mike Billy - canoe carver brought some powerful perspectives and ideas to the tables that were greatly appreciated.
