VENDORS + VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Braids for a Cause
Sunday, June 28th
10 AM–4 PM
Canadian Tire, Chelmsford

We still need:

- General volunteers
- Volunteer braiders
- Vendors
- Food/drink vendors
- Sponsors

Confirmed vendors so far:

- Ally Bee Clean → cleaning company
- The Afrocentric Place → African print clothing, jewelry, turbans and more
- Rebecca’s Roots → gardening
- La Belle Collection → artist

We are looking for 8 to 10 more vendors to help make this event full, fun, and community-driven.

Some vendor examples we would love to see:

- Scentsy
- Baked goods
- Makeup/beauty products
- Hair accessories
- Jewelry
- Candles
- Soap/skincare
- Crochet/handmade items
- Tumblers/cups
- Freeze-dried candy
- Face painting/glitter tattoos
- Kids’ items
- Wellness products
- Coffee/lemonade/drinks
- Food vendors
- Local small businesses

Vendor tables are $50 until June 3rd and $75 after June 3rd.

Comment VENDOR, VOLUNTEER, BRAIDER, or SPONSOR and I’ll send you the info.

Do you know what’s terrifying?
Realizing how many women are suffering in silence while the world keeps moving like nothing’s wrong.
Women are out here surviving things they should have never had to survive.
Smiling through bruises people can’t see.
Holding children together while they are completely falling apart inside.
Begging for help quietly because they learned the hard way that nobody comes when you scream.

And the worst part?
People would rather look away than feel uncomfortable.

Don’t be ridiculous, Andrea… everybody wants this.
And by “this,” I mean me fully spiralling into my sourdough era like I’m running a tiny emotional bakery out of my kitchen.
Starter has a name.
Flour is everywhere.
I have no idea who I am anymore.
But the bread? The bread is coming. 🤣
Thanks to my hubby for being patient during this time in my life 😆

Another $50 donation came in today and honestly… it meant more than I can explain.

That $50 helps Red Thread Refuge Society keep moving through Phase 0➡️ planning, outreach, governance, website costs, printing, grant prep, and the not-so-glamorous work behind building something real.
It may not build the whole refuge today.
But it helps keep the door open long enough to build it.
Thank you to the person who donated today. You reminded me that people are listening.

If you can’t, please share this with someone who can.
Women, children, and pets fleeing violence need more than “just leave.”
They need somewhere safe after.

Last year I got on my motorcycle and raised $800 for shelters.
And somehow that was still more action than a whole lot of people with opinions.
Now that ride has become
➡️Red Thread Refuge Society

Because women and children do not need more fake outrage, empty awareness posts, or people saying “just leave” like that's a plan.
They need safety.
They need housing.
They need options.
This is not a cute little passion project.
This is me building what should already exist.
