Scouts Canada - Camp BEL Camp BEL is located in the town of Dorchester, Ontario, Canada. The camp is about 53 acres of forest and fields located adjacent to the Thames River.

Camp BEL is a Scouts Canada camp. It is approx. 53 acres, adjacent to the Thames River in Dorchester, Ontario. It is operated by 1st Dorchester Scout group which are sponsored by St. Peters Anglican Church Dorchester. It has both an open meadow and wooded camp sites,for all seasons use.

The next time you are camping or using Camp BEL for day use, you may notice some new, permanent outhouses. A small but dedicated team has been slowly switching out our old inventory for some new units on permanent sites, to be maintained by the Camp BEL Camp committee.

A big thank you to Rod, Ernie Reid, Hans, David Millie and Bob Braunton for all their help getting this organized. Many thanks as well to Dale Nethercott for helping. Dale supplied and installed concrete bases for the two units at the river-flats camping area. The work of all these folks is very appreciated!

Heading to DIBC next week?

Please see the reminder below on traffic flow.

Good day Scouters,

Attached is the traffic map for DIBC. As a reminder—just like last year—we are asking all groups to enter the camp from Hamilton Road westbound, so you are turning right into camp. This means no left-hand turns when entering.

When exiting, please continue westbound on Hamilton Road as well, again avoiding any left-hand turns out of the camp. Our goal is to minimize left turns to help improve traffic flow and safety.

Please note that both the Elgin Road and Dorchester Road overpasses are now open. While this may result in a slightly longer route to get back on the highway or travel north/south out of Dorchester, it will make entry and exit to the camp smoother and more efficient.
