Happy Sunday Everyone!

We wanted to share some quick news about the Drill Team’s performance today at the SWOA Stage 2 Drill Competition.

The team performed both their Silent Routine and Compulsory Routine. While there were a couple of minor errors, they executed their movements very well and represented 201 Squadron with professionalism and pride. I told the team how proud I was of their efforts and encouraged them to be proud of themselves as well.

While we did not place in the top three this year, the team came very close, finishing in an impressive 4th place overall in Drill Without Arms.

Competing at this level requires a great deal of dedication, practice, and teamwork, and our cadets demonstrated all of those qualities today. Please join me in congratulating them on their hard work and accomplishment.

Tonight the cadets had some special guests…Ernie, Ellie and Elsa the therapy dogs. All the cadets had a chance to visit the dogs, give ear scratches and belly rubs. The dogs seemed to enjoy themselves as much as our cadets enjoyed spending time with the dogs. Thank you to the St. John’s Ambulance therapy dogs and their owners for stopping by tonight.

On April 9, 2026 the Air Cadet League of Canada (ACL) marked its 85th anniversary. That’s 85 years of service to Canada, supporting our nation’s youth and future leaders.

Well...I'm a little late on posting these photos. Back in November, 19 cadets got the chance to go flying in the Scout out of the Executive Aviation Hangar. The Scout is the tow plane for the gliders. It was a long day, but the cadets were well behaved, and everyone seemed to enjoy their flight. Even CI Burnard got to go for a ride at the end of the day!
