Happy June, and warm weather to all!

Well, we made it through our first year! A lot of new faces, a lot of new challenges for us, but we came through it all, standing on our feet, proud as a small family. As the Commanding Officer of the unit, first time as a Cadet CO of an Army Unit as opposed to Navy Ships, is quite the polar opposite, and I wouldn't change it for anything. I am very proud of all of the young adults we have in our unit, and every one of them should be proud of yourselves for what we have accomplished.

This coming Saturday, we have what is called our Annual Ceremonial Review, or "ACR". This is a more formal parade where the cadets get to stand together, and be congratulated on all of their accomplishments. Parents, Guardians, and friends are invited to come watch our Parade.

We will have a guest officer from our Afiliated Military Unit, of the West Niva Scotia Regiment as our reviewing officer. Please, feel free to approach him and ask him questions about what he has done and accomplished as well as his time as a cadet.

This Thursday, we will be at the workshop, and will be having one final run though of our parade, as well most likely some fun time before the weekend. Details for Saturday, will be given out Thursday evening.

We are already in plans and organizing stages for more adventures and trips in the fall and winter. This year we were adjusting to our new area, next year we are going to take full advantage!

Will see you all on Thursday, "same bat time, Same bat channel " ! Parents may remember that saying 🙏😂

Happy Friday! A few things to bring forward...
Firstly, a huge congratulations to all of the cadets that have earned their recent promotions!
From Cadet Basic to Lance Corporal
LCpl N**i
LCpl Evans
LCpl Smith
Lcpl Savary

In our accelerated program, congratulations to Corporals Henshaw and Surette!

When a Cadet joins the program at an age older than 12, they are able to go through two training levels at the same time (accelerated program), to bring them more in line with other cadets in their age groups.

With the warmer weather FIANLLY approaching, no fire bans, or field limitations, we will be doing more and more "army" stuff outside, so let's make sure we are all prepared to be outdoors.

Cadets going to the trip to Halifax next week were sent home with information regarding drop off, pick up time and what to bring with them.

Bus will be at the Digby Irving for 1:15pm Wednsday 18th of March, please arrive for 1pm, have lunch before you arrive.

Pick up will be 930pm ISH ... heavy on the ISH... Thursday 19th of March at the Digby Irving. If the Cadets are able to, will have them call their respective drives when they go through Annapolis for more accurate timing.

As next week is March Break, we will not be having regular Thursday Session. The following week will be sports at the Elementary School..

Olympic biathlete Emma Lunder (Emma Lunder Biathlete) began her journey at 63 Kalamalka Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps in Vernon, B.C.

Inspired by her brother, Emma joined for the fun and discovered her passion for biathlon along the way! “I joined because I saw my brother having so much fun and I discovered biathlon along the way! From regionals to nationals, cadets gave me the chance to learn new skills in a supportive environment. Without those first years, I would never have found my Olympic sport.”

Through cadets, Emma gained much more than just a passion for biathlon. She learned leadership and teamwork, commitment and perseverance, and gained the confidence to chase big dreams.
Her cadet experience was the springboard to an incredible athletic career. Emma competed for Canada at two Olympic Winter Games (PyeongChang 2018 and Beijing 2022) and multiple world championships, helping the Canadian women’s relay team land a top 10 finish in 2018. Her Olympic journey is proof that dedication and the values you learn as a cadet can take you far.
Emma’s message to girls in cadets: “Try everything even if it’s outside your comfort zone. Cadets is a safe space to explore, and you never know what you’ll fall in love with!”

The sense of community and teamwork Emma found in Cadets motivated her throughout her athletic career. Her story shows just how far inspire you to go, dream big, and reach for your goals!
