This is Flaure and her baby girl during a postpartum appointment at Kay Akouchman. 🤍
At 31 days old, baby’s heartbeat was being checked by Nurse Miss Carline during a follow-up visit — one small but important part of the ongoing care mothers and babies receive after birth.
Postpartum care helps ensure both mother and baby continue healing, growing, and being supported in the weeks following delivery.
As part of our Mother-to-Mother campaign, we’re sharing different moments that make up a maternal care journey at Olive Tree Projects.
A full maternal care journey costs $1,100 USD and helps provide prenatal care, safe delivery, and postpartum follow-up for mothers and babies in Haiti.Learn more at the link: https://olivetreeprojects.org/mother-to-mother-campaign

A full circle moment. 🌸
Wildarne recently welcomed a beautiful baby girl into the world through the care of Kay Akouchman.
Years ago, Wildarne and her sister became part of Olive Tree Projects’ Family Support Program, where they were supported through their education and encouraged toward a brighter future. Today, both sisters have completed school, and Wildarne is now beginning a new chapter: motherhood.
Surrounded by her partner, her sister, and members of our Family Support team excitedly meeting the new baby, it was a beautiful reminder of how important support systems and community can be for new mothers. 🤍
Wildarne recently completed certification training as a nail technician, and we look forward to continuing to support her as she works toward starting her own business.
After receiving prenatal care and delivery support through Kay Akouchman — and now continuing through postpartum follow-up care — Wildarne shared how thankful she was for the care she has experienced throughout her maternal journey.
Moments like these remind us that investing in women, mothers, and families can create lasting impact across generations.
As Haitian Mother’s Day approaches, help us make more journeys like this possible.

Last Thursday and Friday, our midwives and nurses from Olive Tree Projects had the privilege of leading a neonatal resuscitation training for the pediatric unit at Hôpital Saint-Michel.
At Olive Tree Projects, we believe that improving maternal and infant health goes beyond the walls of our clinic. By sharing knowledge, strengthening skills, and working alongside other healthcare professionals in our community, we can help create safer beginnings for even more babies in Jacmel.
We are incredibly proud of our team for continuing to lead with compassion, professionalism, and expertise. Trainings like these help strengthen newborn care skills and improve outcomes for babies and families throughout our community.
None of this would be possible without the support of our donors, whose generosity allows us not only to provide care, but also to invest in collaboration and education that strengthens healthcare in Haiti.
Every training, every shared skill, and every prepared healthcare worker has the potential to help save a newborn life. 💛

What began as a vision in 2008 has grown into compassionate, community-based care supporting mothers, babies, and families in southeastern Haiti every day. None of this would be possible without our dedicated staff, supporters, donors, and partners who continue to stand with us.
Thank you for being part of this journey. 💛
