🎀October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🎀

From Souvenir Elementary, to Laval Junior, to Laval Senior and far, far beyond!

This month, we proudly stand with Pink in the City, an inspiring initiative founded by a SWLSB alum when he was a student, Lawrence Vourtzoumis, to raise awareness and support for those affected by breast cancer.

Through our partnership with Pink in the City and the Secondary Student Leadership initiative, we empower students to make a difference in their communities. Together, we continue to build momentum with our annual spring Raise Craze, where student-led fundraising meets creativity and compassion in many of our schools.

Let’s wear pink, spread hope, and take action. 💗

Today, St. Agathe Academy High School planted a white pine in remembrance of the children lost to residential schools. This tree stands as a living symbol of our commitment to reconciliation with Indigenous peoples.

Our past will not be our future.

We honor the truth, and we choose a path forward—together. 🧡

Students at Mountainview Elementary, Lake of Two Mountain High School, and St Jude Elementary heard from Watsenniisotha the director of Eductaion, Kahsennine, and Jimmy from Kahsennine.

We will walk together on October 1 in memory of the children lost to the Residential School system and in hopes of building a better country together.

Each student follows a unique pathway tailored to their interests, strengths, and aspirations.

🔹 Experiential Learning That Matters

Grade 7: Observe a live surgery alongside your mentor.

Or spend a day learning how to craft Academy Award winning special effects.

Grade 8: Build a race car component in a university engineering lab that you drafted.

Or learn how to inspire people on stage or with the strokes of a brush.

Grade 9: Learn survival skills in the forest with soldiers and Indigenous leaders.

Grade 10: Train with elite coaches and athletes from across the country.

Grade 11 (Quebec): Deliver a TEDx Talk, shadow lawyers and government officials — with CEOs in the audience who helped mentor you as you prepare to graduate.
